Experience the Real Crete - This is a must!!! It was one of the most authentic days that we’ve ever had on our travels. Not only did we learn a lot about Crete and the Cretan people, we were given the history of this beautiful land. So many to thank for our full and enjoyable day. Alexander was a wealth of information and you can tell he really loves his job but more importantly Crete. He really shouldn’t be so good at this as we will all be moving here to join him. Dimitri was an incredible driver who steered us through many tight roads and hills. He reminded me that I should wear my long sleeved sweater as their are many brambles on the Truffle hunting trip and I was glad I did.
Thank you to Niko and his Truffle hunting dog that we all fell in love with. What an amazing experience to have. We found a few truffles which was so exciting as it’s just the start of the new truffle season.
Our cooking class and dinner with Nikofaro was unforgettable, an experience we will never forget. The hospitality shown to us was beyond words. I wish we could relive the experience again and again. So very glad we got away from the resort and experienced Crete.

Outstanding - This was an incredible once of a lifetime experience. Our driver Dimtris and our guide Irini were incredible. Their knowledge of Crete was remarkable. The tour itself was the best tour we have ever taken and we have done many! The truffle hunting with Nicos was unforgettable and the meal afterwards was impeccable. From start to finish this tour was customized for us and was unforgettable. I highly recommend this experience.

A Cretan Truffle Hunt Adventure—Unrivaled - This was an unrivaled experience! It was an adventure in an authentic setting. Nicos took us on a hunt with his adorable dogs with the excitement of digging for the treasure. It did not disappoint. We found several truffles. This was all after an amazing Cretan breakfast cooked by Nicos and his wife, all homemade food, eaten picnic style in the woods. After the hunt we came back to more food prepared by Nicos and his wife—tasting raw truffles, pasta, main dish and salad, topped off with wine and honey raki. We also met their goats and became beekeepers to meet the queen bee in the hives and to eat fresh honeycomb. Afterwards we ate an amazing truffle dessert created by Nicos, watermelon, and cherries. No one wanted this day to end. We were immediate friends with Nicos and his wife, like we were part of the family. They were extremely kind and hospitable, showing great pleasure and pride in sharing their bounty and craft. The truffle hunt adventure was truly epic and unforgettable. We will remember it for years to come!

Amazing unique experience - What a unique and amazing experience for us! We hiked up a mountain with the guide and his two amazing dogs and found 3 large truffles right off the bat! It was so cool! The kids loved it. Be prepared to hike though, and wear a hat to avoid hitting branches with your head. The lunch restaurant was amazing, my favorite in the entire trip. They made the best pasta with our truffles! The cave was cool, but also a long hike up, unless you want to take a donkey, they are available. Our guides were timely, knowledgeable and sweet. Highly recommend!!

Truffles!! - Fabulous trip - the truffle hunting was an amazing experience with the hunter and his dogs . The lunch afterwards was divine - the chef prepared the truffles for us with pasta - and wine. This tour was a excellent way to experience the mountains of Crete . Zeus’s cave was extraordinary- I highly recommend this tour and look forward to doing again on my next visit.
