Southern Right Charters - Boat Based Whale Watching
The whale watching trip begins with an on-land briefing led by our whale specialist guide before heading down the jetty to our catamaran. We then set off from the Hermanus New Harbour in search of the ‘gentle giants.’ The purpose-built catamaran provides superior viewing and comfort and during the tour and the friendly, knowledgeable crew add that personal touch allowing for an all-round great experience. Our Whale Specialist guide will interpret the marine life encountered en route and provide insight into the behaviour of the whales while you are watching them in action. Our videographer will ensure that the best footage is captured.

Don't pass up the opportunity - This was booked for us as a treat by my sister-in-law as part of our visit from the UK. During the tutorial before boarding, I realised how little I know about these amazing creatures. We had beautiful weather and were fortunate enough to see a Southern Right and her baby for an extended period, as well as other whales.

An unforgettable experience - An unforgettable experience. You saw the great luck of seeing three whales and it was amazing. The organization, duration and treatment of very good workers. We just had the problem of not understanding that the activity didn't start at 6:30h but that it was the departure time of the boat... They wrote to tell us and we arrived on time

Whale watching Hermanus - If you want to go whale watching in Hermanus then these are the company to go with! Absolutely amazing experience, fantastic boat, great team on the boat and land. We saw so many Southern Right Whales it was just amazing. We were so lucky to see them breaching and to see them right by the boat. Just brilliant!

Your best chance of seeing whales. - If you want the best chance of seeing Right Whales then Southern Right Charters are the place to go. They are knowlegeable, passionate and look after you every step of the way. They are also amazing at spotting whales and taking you in really close.
We even saw a Mum with her brindal (nearly pure white) calf ! Very rare - our captain was so excited! They also had a drone that they put up in the sky to film us and the whales we saw. The footage was available on a USB stick by the time we got back - outstanding. Genuinely a trip of a lifetime, Thank you so much.
