Highlights
  • Oia’s Main Street - Oia is a scenic village on the north west edge of the Santorini island within the Cyclades. It extends for almost 2 kms along the northern edge of the caldera that forms the island of Santorini, at a height of between 70 and 100 metres above sea level.

Oia typifies the white-painted houses of the Cyclades, in many cases built directly into niches which are cave houses used by crew of the ships, on the lip of the volcanic crater, between which are narrow alleys and blue-roofed churches with cupolas.

The landscape is stunning, Oia’s white houses are contrasting with the black and red volcanic rocks of the island.

  • Three Bells of Fira - Fira is a capital of the island and a city of white-washed houses built on the edge of the 400 metres high caldera on the western edge of the island. You will enjoy 1,5 hour walk, during which you can see The Three Bells Church, White Orthodox Cathedral of Ypapanti, built on the site of an earlier church destroyed in the 1956 Amorgos earthquake. The infinite blue color of the sea merging at the horizon with the Mediterranean sky is reflected on the domes of the churches. The two main museums of interest that you may want to take a look is the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Prehistoric Thira.

From Fira there is a panoramic view of the 18 kilometres long caldera of the volcano.

Additional Information

Santorini, situated in the southern part of the Cyclades, sprawls across an area of 76 square km and has a 70 km long coastline. Several myths are linked to this island, often referred to as the ‘Lost Atlantis’ or the ‘Pompeii of the Aegean’. Around 1450 BC, the island got its unique crescent shape, due to a massive volcanic eruption that caused most of it to submerge into the sea. The consequent geographic features include a 300m high cliff along the western coast and gently inclining beaches to the east.

During your trip, you will explore the well-known towns of Oia and Fira, celebrated for their charming white houses and breathtaking panoramas. If you wish, you can also enjoy a boat ride to the volcano for an additional fee.

The tour offers a chance to familiarize yourself with the intriguing history of this extraordinary place, capture stunning pictures, and shop for keepsakes! You will spend a total of 6 hours on the island of Santorini. The trip includes comfortable bus rides with ample free time at each location. The to-and-fro ferry trip to the island will take approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes each way.

Unforgettable day - I've never seen an agency care so much about its clients. The visit to Santorini was wonderful from the beginning. As my English is not that good, the company was willing to find a guide who spoke Spanish to guarantee a better experience. However, due to the limited time left on my trip, it was not possible to get a guide at the last minute, so I opted for an English-speaking guide. It was amazing! I was able to understand everything about the trip and I even had support via WhatsApp in case I got lost. I highly recommend MLB Travel Agency.

Visiting Santorini - The tour guide was amazing and very informative. Everything was on time. We visited the towns of Oia and Fira but we did not expect it to be this crowded for late October. When we were returning to the bus, one of us needed to go to the washroom, but we only had .80 of a euro in change (80 cents). These were public bathrooms. The man standing at the door told my friend he cannot use the bathroom if he does not have 1 euro, he was only .20 cents short of 1 euro. When he said he only had the .80 euro, he told him to walk up the hill, use the machine, and bring back 1 euro if he wanted to use the washroom. If it's a public bathroom, why is this allowed to happen? I realize this does not mean that all the people of Santorini are like that, in fact, the majority are very friendly and polite. This man however was extremely rude. The island was as picturesque and beautiful as we see in the pictures. I don't think I would go again though, as it was far too crowed, but I'm very glad we went to see Santorini.

Wouldn’t recommend, certainly for the cost - The only reason I could score more than one star is that most of the trip wasn’t the tour operators fault. The boat journey to Santorini was well organised and comfortable but other than that it was pretty hellish. Once arriving to the destinations of Oia and Fira there was so many tourists that it was pretty unbearable to walk around, especially in the blazing heat with pretty much no shade. The coach used to transport us around Santorini had terrible air con that barely worked. Granted it was very hot outside that day but I couldn’t even sit back in my seat as it was so unbearably hot in the coach. The coach said it was 40 degrees outside and I would say I felt cooler outside of the coach. The boat trip on the way back was also pretty horrific. It moved off before we had even been allowed upstairs to the seating area so we were all just standing in the dingy lower deck with the vehicles. Once arriving back to Crete it was also pretty unclear where to go for your bus back to your hotel. Overall for £300 for 2 people I would certainly not recommend.
