Cared for Aquarium - Nice Aquarium and very well cared for. Nice activity in bad weather but also nice to escape the heat. Many different fish and very educational. Order tickets online in advance, in high season perhaps very busy. Nice terrace outside, the restaurant inside was slightly less cozy. We were there for over an hour.

Great day out with the kids - We got a taxi from our hotel Mitsis Royal Mare to the aquarium which was easy and 20EUROS. We went in the morning on a cloudy day which was great as the morning avoided the crowds. It’s so lovely here my 13 year old and 6 year old loved it. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We then asked about what to do afterwards and the cafe staff recommended a walk to Gouves Marina which took 10 minutes. There are places to eat here and a sandy beach. We then got the train (which is driven on the road) back to the aquarium and got a taxi back to the hotel from the taxi rank outside. So easy and lots of fun for a cloudy day!

Family day out, great aquarium and fun thing to do in bad weather - We arrived at the aquarium, lots of parking for our hire car. We arrived early, after 11am before 2pm please expect queues. We queued for 20mins and there were good facilities and cafe selling delicious snacks. Entrance price was good value and we also bought the audio tour (1 handset was 3Euro). Family of 4 with 2 children aged 6 &10 The space was well maintained, the audio tour was helpful and easy to use to find additional information on the tanks or specific fish, the screens also helped with information. We all have different learning styles the 6yr old liked the audio the 10yr old liked the interactive screens. Seating areas near each tank to take it all in. We loved watching the shark tank being cleaned… and the sea turtle fascinating to watch. It was busy but we didn’t feel rushed and took our time. We all enjoyed our time about 2 1/2hours inside.

Birthday Treat, for me. - I throughly enjoyed all 60 viewing live experience of the aquarium. There's much to see plus coral. Plenty of seating areas on the ledges of the huge window views and other seating areas to ponder and appreciate them. Have opportunities to take photos without a flash. Take the time to sit by the the jelly fish and do a selfie and video. The place is spacious and clean. You can show up and visit rather than online. Shops to purchase goodies. They have a lovely restaurant called Cibus Greek Cuisine by Siganos on the premises. Amazing food and great custom.

Lovely clean Aquarium!!! - Went on a sightseeing trip to this place whilst on holiday in Crete. Mid-size aquarium but had a lot of different species of beautiful sea animals. Also noticed a sign which said this aquarium was the only one in the world adapted for people with colour blindness which I think is a fantastic USP for this place. The place was very clean especially the fish tanks and staff very polite and helpful. My daughters had the virtual reality experience which they said was also very good. All in all, a great day out exploring the lovely town of Crete.

Small and quirky but fun. - Rather small and probably no more than an hours entertainment. A few fish tanks and aquariums and then reptiles at the back. Fun to hold a bearded dragon and a snake. My children enjoyed feeding the turtles. Quirky but fun. More rescue center than full on aquarium.

One hour to spend - Nice for an hour, little old. VR experience is worth the little extra price. We don’t recommend the bar and the toilets….

More for children or bad days - In itself a nice little trip that you can make with children. We were there as a couple and had to pay 12€ Pp. Pay what I think is a little too much. We took our time and were out again after about 1 hour. There are a few highlights there but you absolutely don’t have to go.

Animal welfare - Very interesting experience for adults and children; exciting to come face to face with some truly extraordinary creatures. However, some tanks were small and in particular that of the octopus: a tank in the shape of a cylinder section in which the animal is alone or better in the company of the furniture consisting of an earthenware vase and some mussel shell. Those who know the animal know how inadequate this is. I pointed out to the lady who was at the ticket office for the viewing was quite painful and initially told me that the octopus is fine as it is very scared, then, perhaps because of my unconvinced expression, called another lady who deals (I presume) with the maintenance of the tanks and told me that the animal is often moved to other tanks with different stimuli.
