Definetely worth - Went there in a very busy hot summer night in August. Just to be clear you dont go there for the food. You go there for the entire experience. We ceretaily enjoyed the evening.

Connection with the Cretan culture. Unforgetable! - The best experience on Crete!
I'm happy I've choose Cretan Odyssey for this trip. Fast pick ups with they driver, the guides, Maria and Suzi made our trip more enjoyable...clear informations, their friendly approach, even if they spoke different languages I could feel they work very good together!
The little village up on the hill looked wonderful, the locals warm welcome was amazing. Before the dinner we had time to take a walk in the small village.
The performance of the locals introduced us to Cretan culture. Every body was super friendly. The wine was very good. We danced together sirtaki! Wonderful athmosphere!
I would recommend to everybody this excursion!

A Nice Evening - I was worried when I saw reviews but we had a lovely evening here. A beautiful village, wonderful people. A mix of traditional and more modern Greek dances, dancers worked hard to entertain. The food was basic Greek fare but really tasty. Best feta and olives I have tried. The red wine was nice enough, usually don’t like or drink it but enjoyed a few glasses. Lots of audience participation encouraged. Our coach was 30 minutes late to collect us which put a damper on the evening to begin with but all ended well.

All rather disappointing - We booked this through VIP Excursions in Kokkini Hani - who are excellent - and the trip was fulfilled by Cretan Odyssey. A couple of years ago we attended the Minoan Night at the Minoan Theater, which was absolutely superb. Sadly, this appears to no longer be running, so we tried this Cretan Night in Pano Karouzanos Village instead.
Good points:
+ The organisation and logistics in terms of getting there were efficient.
+ Pano Karouzanos Village is beautiful.
+ There was an opportunity to purchase locally produced olive oil and raki at excellent prices.
+ The Greek dancing was impressive.
+ There was no shortage of wine or water.
Not so good points:
- There were far too many people. Multiple double-decker coaches all offloaded at the same time rather spoiled the serenity of the village. It also meant all these people were crammed into the dining area - it was just too busy.
- The food was poor. We were expecting the usual examples of traditional Greek food. What we got was bread with tzatziki, hummus, and a rather limp Greek salad, followed by a small plate of chicken, rice and potato, then some meagre slices of watermelon and honey covered batter balls (the latter were quite nice. We actually left hungry.
- Anything other than wine or water had to be paid for. We had to pay for an adult ticket for our 15-year-old daughter (anyone over 12 has to pay full price), but all soft drinks other than water had to be paid for.
- Although the Greek dancing was impressive, it was not the interactive experience that was promised. I'd have loved the opportunity to embarrass my daughter with a good raki-fuelled knees up. But the opportunity never came, mostly because the dancers were only interested in getting women up on stage to dance (at no point were any men invited to join in), but also because one glass of raki is all that was provided, and there simply wasn't enough space for dancing anywhere other than on the stage.
All in all, rather disappointing. Not so terrible that I'd ask for my money back, but I'd not go again, and would struggle to recommend it.

Left feeling disappointed! You can get a similar experience from a local taverna. - It was OK! We attended as a family for something different to do. We had good expectations but we felt it was just OK.
The food was simple and there was an OK choice but it was not covered and flies were landing on the potatos, bread and watermelon etc . You then had to clean your own table and scrape food into the bin yourself! I wouldn’t have expected this despite it not being table service. The drink choice was wine or water only. No soft drinks or coffee, for example.
Entertainment was good in fairness and inclusive though it was a little repetitive and probably went on a bit too long. It was a long night!
I must add - The older lady that seemed to manage the establishment was rude, brusk and was not at all friendly. She pushed past people and gave dirty looks all night. She had zero customer care and her rudeness was off putting. Not a good example for other staff.
I’m not sure I would recommend this night and I think you can get a similar experience from a local taverna in town for the cost of a meal as most offer shows that are similar for free. We left feeling disappointed!

Poor experience - Good, service and staff excellent! Show was very touristy but ok. Trip was awful! Collected at 1755 and not dropped back at hotel til 0115 am! Had googled things to do In Heraklion so assumed the venue wasn’t too far away! Shoe wad only 2 hrs 40 mins so didn’t expect to spend 4 hrs 40 mins on a bus! Also didn’t see the Cretian village as had to go up a steep hill to the venue and not given enough time to do both. Should say in description that there is a steep hill to climb in case of mobility problems.
