Amazing tour - Our guide Nadia was truly knowledgeable and accommodating, spoke superb English, and gave us lots of helpful recommendations. She’s a real history expert, a cultivated and culturally aware person who quickly understands your needs — exactly the kind of guide you’ll want to make sure is leading your tour.

Even driving past the Olympic Stadium was a cool bonus for sports fans like us! - We booked the Helsinki Private Sightseeing + Medieval Town Porvoo tour as a couple looking to make the most of our limited time in Finland and we honestly couldn’t have made a better choice!
From the moment our guide picked us up everything felt effortless. The vehicle was clean, spacious, and even had onboard Wi-Fi, which came in handy for sharing moments with family back home in real-time.
Helsinki was the perfect starting point. We were blown away by the majestic Helsinki Cathedral—absolutely stunning in person and a great place for photos. Our guide provided fascinating insights into the history and architecture without ever feeling too scripted or rushed. The Sibelius Monument and Temppeliaukio (Rock Church) were equally awe-inspiring, and we loved the balance between iconic landmarks and lesser-known gems.
The highlight of the day, though, was our visit to Porvoo Old Town. It was like stepping into a fairy tale. We wandered through the cobbled streets, explored charming boutiques, and enjoyed coffee and pastries at a cozy riverside café. Our guide gave us just the right mix of structure and freedom—we had time to explore at our own pace while still learning about the town’s rich medieval history.
Back in Helsinki, we strolled through Esplanadi Park, sampled local delicacies at the Old Market Hall, and soaked in the atmosphere at Kauppatori (Market Square). Even driving past the Olympic Stadium was a cool bonus for sports fans like us!
We appreciated how smooth and well-organized everything was.
As a couple, this tour felt intimate and tailored—we never felt like just another group of tourists. Whether you’re in Helsinki for a day or a week, this private tour is the perfect way to see the best of both worlds: the elegance of the capital and the rustic charm of Porvoo.
Highly, highly recommended! 💙🇫🇮

Not informative or relaxing - We were hoping for historical storytelling that included the why’s and how’s of what creates the Finnish city and culture. Rather, things were just pointed out with the dates it was built. The transportation was lovely except for we kept asking for the heat. We had to scrape the frost off the inside of the windows to see the landmarks. There was a photo book for us to look through and our guide didn’t even know what it was or talked about it. This tour was way too expensive for what we experienced. When we got back to the hotel, we spent the next hour or so researching what we saw to learn about the history on our own. Our guide, even though a nice person, was highly disappointing. We kept redirecting the conversation to learn something about anything otherwise she was sharing non-relevant information about her friend she went to college with and such. I tried to send a message to the tour operator prior to posting this, hoping I would get an apology or a reason but after three days with no response … they clearly didn’t find this feedback important.

Tour Operator Didn’t Show - Viator took our payment for 11:00 am tour then the tour operator phoned to advise that they could not supply until 2:00 pm. We could not accept 2:00 pm as we were due to board our ship for a 5:00 pm sailing. Viator are trying to only repay 80%. We are disputing as we are blameless.
