Pyramids of Giza - The Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx are not only top attractions in Egypt but are also must-see ancient monuments. The Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx are perhaps the most renowned ancient sites globally and the only remaining wonder of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. A visit to Egypt is incomplete without seeing the Pyramids of Giza. Even if you have visited Egypt multiple times, the Pyramids and the Sphinx at the base of the Giza plateau are iconic images of Egypt. Don’t forget to capture a photo in front of the Pyramids and Sphinx.

Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The most prominent feature of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid, the tomb of the Third Dynasty ruler Djoser, built by Imhotep. It is considered the earliest major stone structure in Egypt. The pyramid’s form evolved from the large mastabas (mud-brick tombs) of the First and Second Dynasties, with six steps, each smaller than the one below, created by adding successive layers of masonry and enlarging the lower stages.

The Step Pyramid stands 60 meters high and is constructed from locally quarried clay sandstone of poor quality. Entry into the pyramid is no longer allowed due to safety concerns. The interior chambers and passages were used partly for the burial of the King’s close relatives (especially sons who died young) and partly for storing grave goods for the deceased.

Pyramids of Dahshur - Home to over four different pyramids, the pyramid field of Dahshur is a remarkable site. The Bent Pyramid, with its unique angles, is one of a kind, while the Red Pyramid is Egypt’s first true smooth-sided pyramid and is accessible to visitors.

Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned during the Eighteenth Dynasty. For the past 3,400 years, they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, west of the River Nile from modern Luxor.
