- Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s House - Once the home of children’s author and illustrator Beatrix Potter. This 17th-century house in Near Sawrey, Hawkshead was where her many childrenâs books were brought to life. Itâs traditional stone walls and slate roof are typical of the area and became a Grade II listed building. Beatrix left the house and much of her other buildings and land to the National Trust in her will. Hill Top now serves as an insight into her life in the Lake District.

Great Beatrix Potter experience - Our driver got us around to the Beatrix Potter sites and wax very knowledgeable. He was skilled at driving on very narrow roads. He pulled right up to the site so there was very little walking involved.

Hill Toppers - Simon did a wonderful job of helping us to prioritize our time and get our wishes fulfilled. The weather was cooperative - the scenery was brilliant. Hill Top did not disappoint.
