Different and interesting - Something different from cobras swirling on the ground a metre in front of you to drinking sake hearts in rice wine - would definitely recommend as you won’t do this at home! The farmer was friendly and the guide informative - very safe experience and great food too!

An Experience for any True Foodie - Recommended. We have had snake many times before but only in soup and liked it. Being foodies, we needed to experience the full deal, 7 courses + 2 drinks (gall bladder emptied into rice wine. a shooter of blood and rice wine with the snake heart). Also not for the faint of heart as they showed you how they dispensed the blood into the rice wine, removed the heart, and removed the gallbladder. Snake is NOT like chicken. it has a mildly sweet taste and the texture is a little rubbery. They use many parts from the skin to even the bones, creating many tastes and textures. We truly enjoyed this unique experience. The restaurant was not a tourist trap but a local place. There were only locals there. We had our won table for 2. There was too much food for us so we had our guide Long join us for dinner. He also took the leftovers home to his family. Great, no wastage. After the meal, we walked to the snake farm. It was quite interesting as we got to see where the snakes were raised and other wild game. The restaurant also had other wild game on its menu so this where the fresh meat came from. We sampled some homemade cobra wine and some tea. Had a chat with the farmer/game keeper The hotel pick up is really convenient. As a bonus, it was rush hour and the taxi took too long to show up so we got onto scooters instead. I was on a "grab" scooter (like Uber) and my wife rode with Long. The ride was an adrenaline experience in itself. Very exciting like a real life video game of survival through crazy traffic. However, it was quite safe as they are awesome drivers, NO ROAD RAGE. Overall, we really enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend it to foodies. It's expensive but we have no regrets spending the money however we would not need to do it again. Bon appetite!
