- St. Joseph’s Cathedral - Explore the highlights and hidden gems of Hanoi’s Old Quarter on this private guided walking tour. Highlights include visiting the historic Long Bien Bridge and the bustling Dong Xuan Market, seeing the famous “Train Street,” St. Joseph’s Cathedral, and much more. Along the way, learn about Hanoi’s history, culture, and food from your local guide.
First, we will visit and take photos of St. Joseph’s Cathedral, a Catholic church on Nhà Chung Street in the Hoàn Kiếm District of Hanoi, Vietnam. This late 19th-century Gothic Revival church serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hanoi and is named after Joseph, the patron saint of Vietnam.
- Ta Hien Street - Next, we will stop at Ta Hien Street, also known as Beer Street. This street is full of bars and restaurants, with hundreds of people sitting outside on tiny plastic chairs and tables. Ta Hien Street is a popular destination in Hanoi, attracting millions of domestic and international visitors each year.
- Dong Xuan Market - We will then visit Dong Xuan Market, a symbol and pride of Hanoi’s people for many years. Dong Xuan Market is a popular destination for both tourists and locals in Hanoi. It is one of the largest markets in the city, offering a wide range of goods at affordable prices. With its rich history and bustling atmosphere, Dong Xuan Market is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience the vibrant street life of Hanoi.
- Long Bien Bridge - Next, we will visit Long Biên Bridge, a historic cantilever bridge across the Red River that connects the Hoan Kiem and Long Bien districts of Hanoi, Vietnam. Long Bien Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in Hanoi. Despite experiencing much devastation, it still stands over the Red River as a precious symbol representing the painful history of Hanoi.
- Train Street - Our last stop will be Train Street, one of the best places to learn about and explore local life in Hanoi. Rather than being a normal road with car or motorbike traffic, it has actual railway lines running through it. Homes and businesses literally open out onto the railway lines.
