Amazing experience! - Absolutely an amazing experience! It was such a unique aspect to get up early and see the market. We loved every second of it :) Great food options, learned so much and of course ended with an egg coffee.

My favorite food tour of all time - This was an incredible experience. Waking up at 4am has never been this exiting as it allowed us to see and experience Hanoi in a different light through the whole sale markets. From fresh fruits and vegetables to seafood and meat we saw it all. Through out the tour we were able to taste lots of different Vietnamese food items from Pho to Banh Mi, coffee, balut, lychee and so many others. Our guide Duyen was incredible friendly and knowledgeable making for a great overall experience.

See the early morning markets - Amazing experience. Worth the very early start to see the markets in operation and watch the preparation of the meats, seafood etc. We sampled all kinds of different foods: squid cakes, bun cha, two types of pho, different kinds of sticky rice, bahn mi, donuts, fruit and various herbs! The market was a hive of activity and apparently it was already half over!! More expensive than other tours but this one offers a completely different experience. Well worth it.

We came, we saw, we ate - There was so much to see and eat on the food tour. Our guide, Huyen, was very knowledgeable and catered to our preferences. It was great to see the real life behind the markets and dishes. The busy markets before dawn were indeed an eye opener. Huyen was patient and answered all our questions while also sharing interesting stories and information about the traditions and recipes. I even learnt how dishes are cooked differently at home as compared to at the street stalls. It was a great tour. Thank you, Huyen.

Unique market experience - a must - Such a cool tour. Starting with seeing the delivery of beef carcasses for pho to eating where the chef knows where the herbs are grown and meat has been farmed, to seeing thousands of kilos of live seafood. Well worth an early wake up, go while you’re jet lagged! Felt very safe with the chef.

Great unique experience - Head Chef Duyen picked us up early in our hotel and from there it was an awesome and unique experience. We could look behind the curtain of the daily organised chaos of the wholesale markets in Hanoi. She was very knowledgeable and one can see that she feels at home at the markets. It was lovely to talk to her and learn a lot about this normally hidden side of vietnamese culture. It was a highlight of our trip to Vietnam for sure and when we come back we want to experience more with her. It is totally worth it!

One of a kind food tour - What an eye-opening experience at 4:00 in the morning. Not only is Chef Duyen very welcoming and friendly, but also very knowledgeable. She shares her stories and knowledge with great enthusiasm. You will understand exactly where your food comes from after this tour. A big part of the tour is in the market, and Duyen explains very well how it works. After the market, you get to taste some of the most authentic versions of Vietnamese food at very local places, some of them don't even have a name or branding. You never would be able to find them on your own. I highly recommend this tour for a very unique experience in Hanoi.

Uniquely fantastic market tour like no other - What a fantastically unique experience. So glad we went. Chef was awesome and we experienced the market at a whole different level than what we saw later in the week during our day tour. Amazing. We highly recommend this tour - go when you first arrive in Hanoi and you won’t be bothered a bit by the early start!

Unique Hanoi Food Tour - There is no better way to learn about a part of the food chain of Hanoi than being led by Chef Duyen! Start your day really early at 4am to make your way to the different areas of the Longben market. Have quick bites of what locals eat while they toll their stalls. The omelet with cosmos leaf was pretty interesting along with freshly cooked cuttlefish cake. Chef Duyen then takes you to her favorite spots for bun cha, pho, banh mih, sticky rice, donuts & egg coffee. These shops oftentimes don’t even have signboards because the locals just know where to go. If you are a passionate foodie, want a crash course in Asian ingredients, this is a unique food tour worth waking up early to!
