Group of Monuments at Hampi - 6 AM: Hotel Pickup
Travel 350 kilometers to reach Hampi, the historic capital of the Vijayanagara Empire.
2 PM: Arrival in Hampi
The tour begins with a visit to Hampi’s largest idol, Ugra Narasimha, which stands 22 feet tall and was sculpted by a Brahmin during Krishnadevaraya’s reign. A serpent with an open hood is positioned behind the head.
Next, visit Badavi Linga, the largest linga in Hampi, crafted from black stone and standing 12 feet high. A canal flows through it, ensuring it is always surrounded by water.
The Balakrishna Temple, constructed by King Krishnadevaraya in 1513 AD to commemorate the conquest of the eastern kingdom of Udayagiri, is dedicated to Lord Krishna’s infancy and features stunning carvings of mythical creatures.
Hemakunta Hill is our subsequent stop, offering numerous ancient temples and breathtaking views of the entire town. It is also an ideal spot to watch the sunset.

Virupaksha Temple - The day concludes at the magnificent Virupaksha Temple, dating back to the Hoysala period and recognized as the oldest temple in Hampi. The temple tower boasts eleven stories and reaches a height of 165 feet, with the Tungabhadra River flowing inside.

Vijaya Vittala Temple - The day begins at the Vijaya Vittala Temple, arguably the most magnificent masterpiece in the area. It is built on a polyhedron foundation, with the renowned stone chariot made of rough quartz prominently displayed at the front. Figures of soldiers, hunters, and even foreign visitors like the Portuguese and Arabs are etched on the chariot.
The temple’s musical pillars are considered one of humanity’s greatest artistic achievements.

Royal Enclosures - The next stop is the King’s Balance, a massive stone frame located east of Purandara Mantapa. A stone beam rests on two stone pillars. According to legend, the generous Kings of Vijayanagara would weigh themselves with gold and gems to distribute among the poor.
The tour continues to the Royal Enclosures, featuring memorable structures such as the Elephant Stables, Queen’s Bath, and the Lotus Mahal. The Zanana Enclosure, a site for the royal women, is another captivating location.
