Upon hearing my close friend’s story about his experience at the town party in St. George’s and his bewilderment at the sight of many men walking arm in arm, I realized that a significant number of individuals have limited knowledge about this neighbourhood. That’s something I’m aiming to correct. I’ve been a resident of this district for several years and know it like the palm of my hand, largely because I am gay. In my time, apps like Grindr/Tinder were non-existent, and one had to experience the ‘real world’ ;-) I’d be delighted to give you a tour of this vibrant section of Hamburg called St. Georg - arguably the most diverse district in the city.

It’s a place where the Catholic episcopal seat coexists with the LGBTQ community.
