Great city tour with live commentary - The tour itself is very interesting and we were lucky enough to be able to enjoy a live commentary. We really enjoyed it. The tour offers a good overview of Hamburg and, in our opinion, all the important points are visited.

Great city to explore - City Hall square & the Parliament are beautiful. Many historical places to visit. The hop on & off stops are in good walking distance.

City tour with the red double-decker bus, a must... - Very good trip, in addition to the information from the tape, the driver Andreas entertained us and gave us a lot of information about the city and the people. It was a very entertaining trip that we enjoyed a lot

Funny bus tour - It's always a good idea to explore a city first with the hop on hop off bus. Our bus driver Horst made the tour very entertaining and amusing with his unique sense of humor. The whole tour takes about 90 minutes and costs 18.50 euros for adults and 16.00 euros for students.

a good way to see Hamburg - There are multiple bus tours in Hamburg, and the drivers are quite rude in stating that "this is not the right bus". The drivers are not really courteous or helpful.

Great all round highlights tour. - Very informative tour. The weather was lovely and the roof top was pulled back for the sun on a chilly day. Others had complained about the earbuds for English but we didn't have an issue, yes the German language was louder but expected. The bus goes to all the tourist attractions and highlights things you would never know about if you hadn't taken the tour. We stayed on from beginning to end it takes 90 minutes give or take for traffic. Would definitely recommend hopping on board.

Great tour with bus driver Torben - Great tour with the red double-decker. At first we got a rather shy bus driver who was friendly but nothing more. But when we got back on after a stop we met the bus driver Torben. He added entertainingly to the rather sober information from the audio guide lady. We didn't get to meet Andreas, who was mentioned several times in the reviews. But Torben was really nice too. The buses run reliably according to the schedule. Hop on off is therefore no problem!

Bit Disappointing - I have been on many Hop on Hop off buses and this was my least favourite. We were on the Classic Line. The recorded commentary was in English or German which is fine but unfortunately the driver kept talking in German which interfered with hearing the English commentary. That aside the tour round was okay but of the 15 points of interest some weren't very interesting. You actually get a better view of the harbour from the U3 underground train which goes above ground on a raised railway. It's a circular route so gives quite good views of the city.

Tourist information horror: homophobia and rip-offs are the order of the day - Attention: My review only refers to the tourist information center near the Elbphilharmonie, not to the tour itself. When I decided to explore the sights of Hamburg with the Red Line double-decker bus tour, I visited the tourist information center near the Elbphilharmonie to purchase tickets. Unfortunately my experience there was extremely disappointing. First of all, I was surprised to learn that only card payments are accepted. This may be problematic for some travelers who prefer cash or may not have access to cards and I believe it should be communicated more clearly. When I entered the tourist information center on Saturday afternoon (March 23, 2024), I was served by a saleswoman whose customer service standard left a lot to be desired. She charged double for an adult ticket, which really shocked me. However, I only noticed this after my late friend purchased his card directly from the bus driver. However, the situation reached its lowest point when a family stood in front of me, consisting of two adult women and two children. The saleswoman stubbornly refused to sell them a card, citing a supposed company policy that only families with one man and one woman were eligible. The saleswoman's homophobic statement was shocking and completely unacceptable. She refused them service, insisting that "two women are not husband and wife and are not married." It is deeply disappointing that a company in this day and age would practice and tolerate such discrimination. The saleswoman should not have relied on alleged company policies to justify such discrimination. It is important that companies and their employees are aware and committed to diversity and inclusion. Overall, my visit to the tourist information center near the Elbphilharmonie was an extremely negative experience. The rude and discriminatory treatment by the saleswoman greatly affected my impression of the tourist information center and I would strongly advise other travelers to find alternative ways to purchase tickets for the Red Line double-decker buses.
