Arrival at JRO - Transfer to Arusha

Arusha - Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your driver guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your first hotel in Arusha. The journey offers numerous opportunities for learning and discovery. If something catches your eye or you wish to learn more about something along the way, feel free to ask your driver guide to stop so you can explore further. You will arrive at the lodge in time to check in and relax before dinner.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, with your picnic lunch in hand, you will head to Tarangire National Park, known as Tanzania’s elephant haven. The morning and afternoon are dedicated to exploring this magnificent park. Enjoy lunch at one of the picnic sites and continue your game drive in other areas of the park. The park offers rewarding big game viewing, with countless animals such as giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and lions. The Tarangire River, the park’s main water source, attracts a variety of wildlife. While leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas may be spotted, they are less common. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Game enroute to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After an early breakfast, you will depart the lodge at 7:30 for Serengeti National Park, with game viewing along the way. The journey takes you through the rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you might encounter wildlife such as baboons, vervet monkeys, warthogs, and buffalo. Upon entering the Serengeti, you will be greeted by Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and the vast numbers of ungulates roaming the grassy plains. You will proceed directly to the camp for check-in and lunch. Afterward, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park. In the evening, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, embark on a full day of exploration in the Serengeti, one of Africa’s premier wildlife reserves. This day promises to be a highlight of your visit, as the Serengeti’s wonders unfold. Discover the park’s iconic wildlife during the early morning game drive. If interested, you can opt for a balloon safari, which concludes with a champagne breakfast amidst the grasslands. Explore the Serengeti “Kopjes,” massive granite boulders that provide shelter to diverse flora and fauna. Return to the camp for lunch, then head out again for an afternoon game drive around 15:00. As dusk approaches, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch to explore the Ngorongoro Crater. This unique ecosystem allows wildlife and humans to coexist harmoniously. Descend over 600 meters into the crater, a collapsed mountain believed to have eroded millions of years ago. Enjoy a game drive to spot various animals, including endangered black rhinos, lions, buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, and large flocks of flamingos along Lake Magadi. Have lunch at one of the park’s picnic sites, then continue exploring other areas for more game viewing. After this thrilling game drive, ascend the crater and drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive Back to Arusha / Depart

Arusha - After breakfast at the lodge, savor your final moments in Northern Tanzania as you drive back to Arusha. Along the way, you will have the chance to visit a school and learn about education in Tanzania by spending time with teachers and children. Arrive in Arusha in time for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge. After lunch, enjoy a SHANGA Tour, a social enterprise that employs people with disabilities to create unique, high-quality handmade jewelry, glassware, and homewares using recycled materials. These products are sold in the Shanga shop in Tanzania and worldwide, with profits reinvested to create more employment opportunities for people with disabilities. After the tour, you will transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
