Arrival at JRO - Transfer to Arusha

Arusha - Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, the driver guide will warmly welcome the guests and transfer them to their first hotel in Arusha. The journey offers numerous opportunities for learning and discovery. If something intriguing catches the eye or if there’s a desire to learn more about an observation along the way, guests are encouraged to ask the driver guide to stop for a closer look. Arrival at the lodge will be timely for check-in and a brief rest before dinner.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, equipped with a picnic lunch, guests will head to Tarangire National Park, known as Tanzania’s elephant headquarters. The morning and afternoon are dedicated to exploring this magnificent National Park. Lunch will be enjoyed at one of the picnic sites, followed by a game drive in other areas of the park. The park offers rewarding big game viewing, with countless animals such as giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and lions. The Tarangire River, the park’s main water source, attracts a variety of wildlife. While there is a chance to spot leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas, these sightings are rare. After the game drive, guests will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Game enroute to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Following an early breakfast, guests will depart the lodge at 7:30 for Serengeti National Park, with game viewing en route. The journey passes through the rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where there may be opportunities to see wild animals like baboons, vervet monkeys, warthogs, and buffalo. Upon entering the Serengeti, guests will witness Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and the vast number of ungulates roaming the grassy plains. Arrival at the camp will be followed by check-in and lunch. An afternoon game drive in the park will take place after lunch. In the evening, guests will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Day Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, guests will explore the beauty of the Serengeti, one of Africa’s premier wildlife reserves. This full-day adventure is likely to be a highlight, as the wonders of the Serengeti unfold. The early morning game drive offers a chance to discover the park’s iconic creatures. For those interested, an optional balloon safari is available, concluding with a champagne breakfast amidst the grasslands. Guests will also see the Serengeti “Kopjes,” massive granite boulders that provide shelter to a variety of flora and fauna. After returning to the camp for lunch, guests will head out again for an afternoon game drive around 15:00. As dusk approaches, guests will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast, guests will depart with a picnic lunch to explore the Ngorongoro Crater. This self-contained ecosystem is a place where wildlife and humans coexist harmoniously. Guests will descend over 600 meters into the crater, a collapsed mountain believed to have eroded millions of years ago. The game drive offers opportunities to see various animals, including endangered black rhinos, lions, buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, and large flocks of flamingos along Lake Magadi. Lunch will be at one of the park’s picnic sites, followed by further exploration for game viewing. After this thrilling game drive, guests will ascend the crater and head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Drive Back to Arusha / Depart

Arusha - After breakfast at the lodge, guests will enjoy their final moments in Northern Tanzania as they drive back to Arusha. Along the way, there will be an opportunity to visit a school and learn more about education in Tanzania by spending time with teachers and children. Arrival in Arusha will be timely for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge. After lunch, guests can enjoy a SHANGA Tour, a social enterprise that employs people with disabilities to create unique, high-quality handmade jewelry, glassware, and homewares using recycled materials. These products are sold in the Shanga shop in Tanzania and worldwide, with profits reinvested to create more employment opportunities for people with disabilities. After the excursion, guests will transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
