- Hurulu Eco Park - Situated near the city of Habarana, a well-known tourist spot in Sri Lanka, Hurulu Eco Park was founded as a forest reserve in 1977 and spans approximately 25.50 square kilometers. The park serves as an excellent location for observing the native Sri Lankan elephants (elephas maximus maximus) in their natural habitat, offering visitors the opportunity to watch these majestic creatures up close. While Minneriya and Kaudulla national parks are famed for elephant sightings near Sigiriya and Habarana, Hurulu Eco Park becomes the preferred choice for jeep safaris when the other parks are not accessible. Expect the safari experience to last around 2.5 hours.
