After a restful night following the overnight bus from Hanoi to Ha Giang, which arrives around 3:00 AM, you’ll have time to relax. Post-breakfast, preparations for the trip begin. Our tour guide will arrive at 9:00 AM to assist with preparations and provide a detailed itinerary overview using a map. For those opting to self-drive, there will be time allocated for driving practice.
Đèo Bắc Sum - Begin the journey with a stunning view just 20km from the city. Marvel at the natural beauty of mountains and forests, with bamboo trees and flowing rivers creating a majestic scene. Ascend to Bac Sum Pass, navigating 20 winding curves known as the ‘snake road.’ From the top, enjoy panoramic views of the landscape and valleys, where ethnic minority villages are nestled.
Quan Ba Heaven Gate - Continue to Heaven Gate in Tam Son, situated over 1200m above sea level. Here, witness a breathtaking landscape of limestone mountains and deep valleys. Next, visit a viewpoint to see the Twins Hill and explore Nam Dam, a clay house village inhabited by the Dao ethnic minority. Discover their local culture and unique clay house architecture.
Lung Tam Linen Cooperative - Visit a local family using ‘hemp’ to weave fabric and create traditional clothing. Experience their daily life and traditional craftsmanship, guided by our tour guide. Continue the motorcycle journey along the river to Yen Minh, where the night will be spent. Along the way, traverse lesser-known country roads, witnessing breathtaking landscapes and exploring hidden villages. Stop at the loop road’s peak for a valley overview.

Dinh Vua Meo - Visit the palace of the king who ruled the mountain region in the 18th century when it was an autonomous area. Lung Cu Flag Tower - Visit Lung Cu Flag Pole to view the Vietnam-China border area. The views from the flag pole are expansive and impressive. Visit Lo Lo Chai village, home to the Lo Lo ethnic minority, and see their traditional clay houses. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Ma Pi Leng Pass - After a delicious breakfast, depart from Dong Van Town. The motorbike ride will take you to the most beautiful section of the journey on Happiness Road, connecting Ha Giang city and the geopark area. Ma Pi Leng Pass is renowned for its rugged cliffs and stunning views, considered the most challenging pass in the northern region and often called the “king” of passes in Vietnam. The road winds through cliffs, reaching 2,000 meters in altitude.
Nho Que River - Reach the Nho Que River. From a breathtaking mountain viewpoint, enjoy a 360° experience and ride to see Ma Pi Leng Pass’s panoramic view on a boat trip, capturing unforgettable photos. At the pass’s peak, be awed by the grandeur of the surrounding mountains and rivers. Continue to remote villages, gaining insights into the lives of people in distant Vietnam. The region’s natural landscapes are unparalleled, with colossal walls, granite outcrops, picturesque rice terraces, hanging valleys, and roads carved into mountainsides.
Du Gia - Return to the homestay in Du Gia, a pristine village with peaceful, rustic beauty. The Du Gia waterfall flows year-round, attracting adventurers seeking discovery and inner peace. Reaching the waterfall requires a challenging journey, but the reward is a serene, “sleeping fairy” landscape. Enjoy the fresh air and immerse yourself in nature, leaving life’s worries behind.

Explore vast hemp fields in the Hmong people’s valley on the rustic DUONG THUONG ROAD.

Ha Giang - After the adventurous ride, return to Ha Giang in the afternoon. Enjoy lunch at the Quiri Peninsula restaurant and bar, savoring delicious dishes. There will be ample time to catch a bus or limousine back to Hanoi. Depending on preferences and schedule, choose between a night bus or an afternoon limousine. It all depends on availability and post-tour plans.
