At 9:30 am, depart from Dong Van, with riders taking about an hour to reach Tham Ma Road, one of the biggest challenges for the horses that once lived here. This road features 9 winding curves and is known for its steep incline, which led many horses in Ha Giang to give up, hence the name ‘Tham Ma,’ meaning ‘testing horses’ in Sino-Vietnamese.
