Felt like a day with friends - Felt like a day with friends, not a tour. Yamil and Simon guided us through Ecuadorian history and current events, coffee and cacao, the historic district, up to the lighthouse, topped off with a visit to Yamil’s house for homemade ceviche.

Amazing day trip of the city. - I went a half day tour with local guide Yamil. Yamil Is an amazing guide, he knows everything about this city, history, culture and wildlife. During our tour, we visited fascinating places such as Las Peñas, Puerto Santa, the Coffee and Cacao Museum, Panama Street, San Pedro Cathedral, Iguana Park, and the Artisan Market. I got a whole cocoa fruit! Guayaquil Is very very different from what I saw on the news. At the beginning I was little bit scared. After the day tour, I totally changed my mind. The city is very safe, local people are having happy life. Also The rich of biodiversity surprised me. Hopefully next time i could have more time here to visit the dry forest to see monkeys! The chocolate here is tasty, Also the coffee. I love the iguana park, iguana are even not afraid of people. Many wild birds on the street, and the river is very beautiful. Really really thanks for my guide Yamil, highly recommend! I would love to have Yamil to be my guide again next time I visit here. I will definitely come back to this lovely city!

Highlights of Guayaquil - If you are looking for a personalised tour of Guayaquil, Yamil Samán Cabrera from Viasam Tours is the person to turn to. Yamil is very very friendly and super knowledgeable about Guayaquil. He is amenable to including your preferences, if you have "must-sees" on your list. He accepted my suggestion to treat him to a breakfast at a typical local restaurant earlier than the normal start time. Our sidewalk table was beside a street that was formerly used to dry cacao beans in Guayaquil's early days (proof was in huge photographs on the wall of a building in front of us). I ordered a bolón, washed down with a limonada, a meal which reflected the diversity of the people of Guayaquil: the bolón was Ecudadorian fare, and the limonada was Arabic, both delicious). Highlights of the day were going to the cooler heights of the botanical garden, visiting a new upscale mixed use development (stores, offices, and residences) in suburban Samborondón, and taking the teleférico to Durán and back. A very special highlight was going to Yamil's home, meeting his family, and helping to prepare a delicious ceviche lunch. While we couldn't go to some locales because of pandemic restrictions, we did pack a lot into the day's tour (we also had to have an earlier cutoff because of a pandemic toque de queda (curfew). For an enjoyable day, please contact Viasam Tours and book with Yamil. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic time - We loved our personalized attention! We learned about Ecuadorian history with a special focus on Guayaquil. We had a fun, interesting and special day walking through different neighborhoods, and sampling amazing coffee and ceviche. Can't wait to recommend to other friends who will visit, and to try other tours when we have more time. We appreciated speaking some Spanish, although Yamil speaks perfect English.
