Guayaquil is such a... - Guayaquil is such a beautiful city, and this mixed driving/walking tour provides just enough detail and just the right introduction to make us want to see more. Our guide, Jabeth (at Free Tours Guayaquil) and our driver, Freddie, were great company.

An enjoyable learning experience - We had a very enjoyable guided tour of Guayaquil. We spent half the time in the car and half of it walking. We saw a lot of the city and learned a lot about the history and life in Ecuador. It was great to see the highlights of the city during our short stay here. We would highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic 1/2 day tour. - Guide was great - lots of interesting knowledge and a real passion for the history of Guayaquil in general! Enjoyed talking about local Guayaquil and Ecuadorian national culture and South American politics over the last century as well.

Excellent way to get up know Guayaquil - This is an EXCELLENT tour. Jovan and our driver were wonderful. Good English for me. I let them know the one thing I had to see and it was fine (Photos of Iguanas in Parque Seninario). Got to see so much more and get a heat taste for Guayaquil. A Fantastic City Tour - Took the tour with Javeth today and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was friendly, personable, and knew so much! I highly recommend taking this tour and learning about the city before heading to the Galápagos Islands. Javeth really made this a great experience.

Fun trip - Excellent trip. Javeth did a great job, especially bringing the history to life. the city from a great vantage point and then did a walking tour of the river areas and historical district including city hall.

Good, solid introduction to Guayaquil and a trip worth taking of you have only a few hours to explore the city. - Guide was well versed with the history, culture and pulse of the city. We actually had a driver and guide (2 people) who occupied the front seat. The vehicle was a mid size car, well maintained and clean. We booked for two seniors and one teen. Our teen was 14 and almost adult size so the back seat was a bit tight for three normal sized adults - sometime to be aware of when booking. We made it work and had a great time.

Rainy day - Loved the iguanas. Heavy rain the previous night limited us to 1/2 of the area we explored. Guide didn't have strong English.

Tour Guide Never Showed Up - This was a pricey private car tour with hotel pick-up at 1400. ($310 for 2 adults for 3 hours.) When the guide did not show up by 1420, we called the tour operator. The hotel concierge called them. Viator called, texted, and emailed them. No answer. By 1530, the hotel had arranged for a taxi driver to take us on the same itinerary, but no English-speaking guide. Instead, the driver turned on his speaker-phone and found an English-Spanish translation app using Google to describe the points of interest. Result: a professionally narrated 3-hour tour for just $36! At the end of the day, we checked our emails. Viator had already refunded our $310, and the tour operator explained the no-show and offered to give us the tour for free on another day, which we could not do. Thanks anyway. Problems can and will happen. Perhaps the tour operator can keep their phone on during tour hours and call the to guide to verify that the guide showed up on time?
