Highlights
  • Guayaquil - The tour coordinator will meet you in the hotel lobby (Hotel collection is available within Guayaquil’s urban boundary)

We will journey to the Churute Ecological Reserve for a canoe excursion to observe the local plant and animal life. Following that, we’ll proceed to the trail of the howler monkeys for a brief hike to spot the resident primates.

Post hike, we’ll visit the Cacao y Mango farm for a lunch break and a chocolate production demonstration.

The Churute Mangroves are a unique area where three distinct ecosystems merge in a compact area. Notably, the red mangrove stands out, with its roots stretching out as if they’re moving through the waterways, earning it the nickname ‘walking mangrove’ from the locals.

The reserve serves as a sanctuary for a variety of animal species, including some that are endangered, like the Canclon, a waterfowl inhabiting the lagoon that shares its name, and the coastal crocodile, now extinct in other coastal regions. A must do day trip in Guayaquil! - My friend and I had a fantastic experience on this day trip. Jefferson was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the area. We spotted a lot of different birds at the Mangrove, and we got to experience the unique sounds of the Howler monkeys. The day ended with a trip to a cacao farm, here we made our own chocolate and learned about the history of the cacao in Ecuador. We were treated to a 3 course lunch here and it was by far the nicest meal we had on our Ecuador trip. I would highly recommend this day trip if you’re in Guayaquil, 5* experience. Thank you Jefferson and Perfect Destiny.

Nature walk - A nice way to spend a few hours bike riding on trails; then walking to see wildlife including crocodiles.
