Highlights
  • Iglesia de San Diego - The tour begins at the San Diego Church, where we will begin to induce a warm and fun atmosphere under our traditional Mexican music.

The instruments that we will use are Guitar, Bandurria, Pandero, Double Bass and sometimes Accordion.

  • Salto del Mono - Once we enter into a fun atmosphere, we will begin to walk through 12 of the most emblematic alleys of the city, including the well-known Salto del Mono alley, during the entire walk the tourists are accompanied by music, dances, legends and Mexican and Spanish folklore.
  • The Alley Of The Kiss - The tour ends in the emblematic alley of the kiss. Of course, that legend will also be told and represented by a volunteer couple from the public, we will give them a quick “acting class” so that they can relive the romantic and chaotic moment that Ana and Carlos lived through.

Once the performance is over, we will continue with the last dances and each tourist will leave on their own.

Additional Information

The Callejoneadas are evening excursions through Guanajuato’s historical center’s slender alleys, accompanied by a team of musicians and vocalists, known as ‘estudiantina.’ This crew escorts guests as they visit some of the city’s most notable landmarks.

Throughout the journey, estudiantina members deliver traditional Mexican tunes intertwined with narratives and personal anecdotes from their student-life experiences in the city. Attendees typically adorn themselves in regional costumes, such as sombreros and ponchos.

Besides being a prevalent attraction for tourists, the Callejoneadas hold historical significance and cultural relevance, tracing back to the era when Guanajuato was a prominent mining town in the 19th century. Back then, college students formed bands as a means to amplify the festivities and gatherings of miners.

Great time! - My family and I had a great time (adult children). The group played great music and were very entertaining. It is in Spanish but it was still a great experience. Recommend this tour when visiting the beautiful city of Guanajuato.

Participation required! - Absolutely fun! At first we didn’t think it would be fun, but we were wrong! This was so much fun and engaging. You do have to speak Spanish to enjoy this as it’s very interactive!

A Must Do in Guanajuato - A must do in Guanajuato. Such fun walking through the beautiful city historic center with talented students who work hard to engage and entertain. Everyone is there to have fun. Drinking encouraged but not required. There is power in communal singing and storytelling with costumes. A gem worth supporting and YOU WILL HAVE FUN. Worth noting- Not great for anyone with mobility issues because Guanajuato is full of steep hills and cobblestone alleys and this 90 minute “show” is performed in various locations so its a tour and a show in one. All in Spanish but any human can enjoy because of the enthusiasm and professionals performing.

DIVERTIDISIMO - Make sure you are on the right one. We purposely purchased tickets to Callejoneada Estudiantina since we wanted to finish at Callejon del Beso. However we ended up going with wrong group....luckily they allowed us to continue with them after they saw our purchased ticket. A little bummed we didn't take the walking callejoneada with this group but other group was also entertaining and fun. Regardless which callejoneada you take its a MUST DO if you are spending at least one evening in GTO.

Ok overall for the cost - It is fun but they should play more music less talking. Also, they do not respect the starting time as they are trying to get more people to join. My reservation was at 9:20pm and we started until 10pm. For the man be ready to be separated from the women for a good last 30 min (which I did not like) then they pressure men to buy flowers. You will end near the callejon del beso. Is an OK thing to do.
