This is a must do, and must see for sure!! it truly was a VIP experience!! - So if you’d like tequila, I highly recommend taking this tour. Our guide Jorge was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable a lot of fun. First of all he showed up, and I really nice black Chevrolet suburban and had a cooler full of beer and water ready to go. It was about an hour and 20 minutes to Casa Oro. Once we arrived, we walked over to the distillery. Workers were actively roasting the agave, and it was so fun to watch it actually going on while we were there. They were making tequila! Unlike some of the other tequila tours, we’ve been on where it was just a storefront. We walked down below and into a cavern where large barrels of tequila aging and had a tasting. We got to sample numerous tequilas, and we’re educated on how to sample tequila. I never knew there was this much of a process, but it was similar to Wine. They provided fruit and other condiments, which were paired with the tequilas, and it was amazing. We would definitely do this again, and we highly recommend the tour.

Great tour for the thirsty for knowledge - We had a great time on our tour and found our guide to be incredibly knowledgeable. Our goal was probably different than most as we have a true desire to learn about the details of tequila production and he was able to answer all our questions nicely. The care he used for the transportation was very nice and clean. We could have done without the last stop as that felt like a drunk fest and this was not our intention but I believe most tours to Tequila include such stop.

This was a VIP experience - Initially, I wanted to visit Tequila by train (Jose Cuervo Express). I read reviews and realized a small semi-private tour (by SUV) would be much better. La Jima Experience was perfect. They were easy to communicate with by phone and WhatsApp (my reservation change request and lack of Spanish was OK). Getting picked up at my hotel was more convenient than traveling to a train station. Riding in a deluxe SUV was very comfortable. Refreshments were served. I was alone, allowing me to meet three other fun and interesting people. La Jima is a small, affordable VIP tour. We learned about - and tasted - high-quality tequila at Cava de Oro (at their beautiful hacienda/distillery). Before this tour, I knew little about quality sipping tequila. Because of this experience, I bought bottles to take home to Texas. Cava de Oro's YouTube reviews are excellent, and stores lock their products in glass cases. Our guide was Jorge. He is very knowledgeable, and everyone found him to be charming. We moved on to an early dinner at Casa Sauza (owner of Hornitos), a delicious central city restaurant. We then explored the main square. The tour finished at a lively roadside beer garden serving tequila drinks and Mexican dishes. It was a great day, and I have been in contact with the people I met since we exchanged travel tips. I highly recommend La Jima Experience. Considering all this, the train would not have been as good and personalized.

Best way to visit Tequila. - You will find in this tour the best way to visit Tequila. Starting with a well organized tasting in beautiful Cava part of a magical distillery, to continue having lunch in a tasty restaurant. Leon was a great host, making his presence feel as another friend of the crowd instead of an stranger. Expertise in the tasting, great recommendations for the lunch and open for options in the last part of the tour. Have a strong breakfast and get ready to experience Tequila in the best way.

Overall very good Tequila Tasting Experience at Cava de Oro - Overall a good trip! We got started on our way late around 1:30 pm instead of 12 noon so this meant we got back just after 10 pm. Excellent tequila tasting at Cava de Oro experience! Casa Sauza beautiful place and good food. Just about 20’ left in Tequila then off to the Guero Cantaritos which is ok but a bit loud and many barachos for sure. Nice day over all just late start and arrived back late.

Informative but awkward - The tour of the distillery was very informative. Jorge was an excellent tour guide. We learned a lot about the process of how tequila is made (which was our main objective). The tequila tasting was also super informative and now we know how to sample different tequilas and compare flavors. The tour advertisement said "luxury vehicle", but in my opinion, this was not luxury. We were in the way-way back seat of a chevy suburban with not enough legroom and most of the time we could not hear what the guide was saying while in the car. Everyone on the tour spoke English, but one couple from California insisted on practicing their Spanish with Jorge, so, half of the information discussed in the trip up to Tequila and on the way back we didn't understand. So, informative and awkward.
