  • 8687-8559 Osprey The Blue Mountains Townline - Visit us at stepitupadventures.ca - Hiking/Snowshoeing/Paddling Back Country Tours.

Enjoy a guided 2.0km (2-2.5hrs) hike (snowshoes/crampons) a top the Niagara Escarpment that will take you through the Singhampton Caves, Clearview Twp., just outside of the Town of the Blue Mountains/Collingwood.

The first third (30-45min) of this hike takes approximately 1hr taking you through a peaceful mature mainly deciduous forest.

The next third (30-60min) takes you through the spectacular Singhampton Caves through the ice covered crevice in to the main caves. These caves are open to the sky for those uneasy with tight spaces.

Unique to the winter experience is the contrast in colour between the moss, rock and white snow. All of which is enhanced by the sparkling ice covered walls. Additionally, the caves are easier to navigate in the winter with packed snow leveling out your footing.

The last third (30-45min) of this hike returns on the same trail back to the trail head.

This hike and exploration generally takes 2-2.5 hours and your guide will adjust the return hike to meet your timing needs. Winter timing and distance is impacted by snow depth.

wonderful winter hiking - The views in the snow cave are stunning. Going uphill during the winter season may require a little more effort but Sue is very friendly and helpful with us along the way. Over we had a great time together.

Great hike with great advice about gear. - This was a great hike; the leader was knowledgeable and set a comfortable pace. I would book with her again. She not only knows the area well she has knowledge about equipment and planning backwoods trips. One great take away for me was where to get a better set of crampons for my boots. The ones she lent me were perfect and much better than the pair I had been using.

Off the beaten path! - Awesome tour. We both are new to snowshoeing, Lisa and Sue were patient and helpful, we didn’t feel rushed at all and our trip took longer than our booking cause we are new. The tour was so worthwhile! Beautiful views/pics, the girls are so knowledgeable about tour location and true adventurists! Very fun to be around, I would highly recommend!

Singhampton Caves - It was a great hike and the views were awesome, but what made the experience exceptional were the guides Lisa and Sue. They were very accommodating and provided interesting context throughout the journey. They made my whole family feel safe!
