Its name is a tribute to its status as the crown (stefanono) of Fira. We’ll reach Firostefani from Fira, tracing along the Caldera’s ‘eyebrow’ and covering a short 10-minute walk. The view is unmatched, the steep cliff is certain to set your pulse racing.
Oia
Located approximately half an hour’s drive from Firostefani, Oia is really something to behold. The main road splits it into two areas: one facing the Caldera, boasting impressive subterranean buildings, and the other embellished with Captain’s dwellings (capetanospita). To the side of the settlement, you’ll find the castle, whose remnants offer unparalleled views of the vast azure sea and the acclaimed sunset.

Oia is approximately a 30-minute drive from Firostefani and is truly enchanting with its breathtaking beauty. The main road splits it into two areas: one facing the Caldera, featuring impressive underground buildings, and the other consisting of traditional captain-houses (capetanospita). On one side of the settlement is the castle, from which the remnants provide spectacular views of the endless blue sea and renowned sunset.
