Additional Information

Imbros Gorge
Start your journey into the gorge just below the village of Imbros, where several cafés and tavernas can be found. The way to the mouth of the gorge is well signaled.

From there, the trail gently takes you into the gorge on a southerly direction. The trail isn’t steep or overly challenging (typical running shoes suffice for this trek), but like all paths in Crete, it’s quite rocky and requires attention to foot placement.

The gorge tends to be narrow (as thin as 2 meters at certain areas!) and densely vegetated, providing plentiful shade.
After trekking for approximately 120 minutes from the gorge entrance booth (expect a 2.5-hour journey if you’re taking a leisurely pace), you’ll come across a stunning stone arch on your right.

Following this point, the gorge broadens a bit and about 15 minutes later, you’ll reach a road and the village of Komitades where we’ll be ready to proceed with the tour or to drive you back to your pick-up point!

Panos is incredible! - Very nice and easy hike! Amazing views! The south of the island is quiet and nice. And most of all, Panos is a great guide and human! Thank you very much!

Unforgettable! - Hiking through the Imbros Gorge was exactly what my friends and I expected and even more! We were 3 people and we got from our accomodation to the gorge by car, then to a village called Fragkokastello and we ended up in Sfakia for food. We surely enjoyed the food after the amazing hike! Thank you Panos and Natassa, you both were amazing and you made our tour unforgettable!

Incredible experience! Can’t wait to do it again! - Oh, where should I start? We passed through the Imbros Gorge with the help of a nice and experienced mountain guide Natassa provided us with. Then, we went to Fragkokastelo and then Sfakia where we had a delicious, much wanted, meal at a beautiful “Taverna” and then we returned to our base. It was a wonderful experience, Natassa was very helpful from start to finish, she replied immediately whenever we had questions about the tour, Panos was AMAZING, we had so much fun in the car and he made sure we enjoyed every part of the car ride. Safe to say we will DEFINITELY do this again! 100% recommended!
