Not what we expected, but we really enjoyed ourselves! - Will was a great tour guide and we learned more disgusting stuff about Southwark than we ever thought we would! If you are seeking a "Jack the Ripper" type tour this isn't it. Instead we learned about what it meant to be a commoner in Southwark between 1100 - 1800 AD. Will had so much historical information and he was super passionate about the work he does. It was impressive. It was a lovely walk through Southwark on a lovely evening. And it was nice to start and finish our tour at The George.

Nothing dry about this tour a delight for folks who love something off the wall - I highly recommend this brilliant tour , was entertained throughout with the disgusting history of our ancestors. As a Londoner born and bred there is the south of the river prejudices but I took the plunge and went south of the water to discover the horrible history of a part of London bypassed by many for the well known tourist spots but it is so rich in history . It was fantastic to be regaled by stories of the common folk and not just the rich and famous. Our guide was fantastic , took his time , he interacted with the crowd and was genuinely happy for questions from the Everyone His knowledge of the subject was phenomenal. Not a tour for the young ones as some of subject matters are on the bawdy side

Unforgettable and fun historical tour! - Oh my goodness! Just experienced the Cloak and Dagger tour tonight and had such a fun time. This tour lived up to its story, and yes, I recommend it! Although-make note of the age appropriateness- subject matter is not for kids. It’s not a ghost tour- it’s a revealing, honest, deep dive into the darker and gorier side of historical London, specifically Southwark, with elements of acting and humor sprinkled in throughout. Didn’t realize how much we were actually learning, but now I won’t forget, due to the shocking nature of this history about the people, places and geography. If you ask a question, you’ll get a very knowledgeable answer from Cary. The tour starts and ends at a historic pub called The George, so if you have time, I recommend getting a bite or a pint beforehand. It was on my bucket list anyway and is full of character and seems quite popular. A night tour is a great way to end your day sightseeing and this one won’t disappoint.

Great fun and surprisingly educational! - We greatly enjoyed Ollie’s enthusiastic narrating skills and Maggie’s(?) entrances and color narrative were extraordinary fun. One of the best viator tours we’ve done.

Fantastic tour and a fabulous guide! - I am a big fan of tours, but this one takes the cake. Quirky and different, we had a blast exploring Southwark's sordid (disgusting, bloody, smelly) past. Our guide really made the whole scene come to life. If you like being grossed out, I highly recommend it, and will bring my teens next time, too.

The best London tour yet! - Insightful, informative and interesting. Will is absolutely fantastic, he engaged everyone with his tremendous knowledge and excellent delivery. The actors were top notch, I loved the costumes too! Beautiful, historic locations, including Southwark Cathedral, Borough Market, Winchester Palace remains, London Bridge and Clink Prison. This is some of the best fun you will ever have, the stories you will hear are gruesome but they’re very tongue in cheek. 12+ recommended

Enjoyed learning about the local history of this part of London - Enjoyed learning about the local history of this part of London. We walked to various places along the Thames and learnt about the life of common people of that time; also got the visit of surprised guests. I would not recommend kids attending, we are talking about a dark side of the city, with some very explicite details.
