Highlights
  • London Bridge Train Station - You will meet your guide for the tour at 09:15 and the train to Brighton will depart at 09:35. The journey to Brighton takes just over 1 hour.
  • Brighton - On arrival in Brighton there will be a short comfort break before joining the minibus and meeting your driver/guide. After introducing the day your guide will take you on a scenic tour through Brighton, seeing the Royal Pavilion as we make our way to Rottingdean.
  • Rottingdean - Our first stop of the day will be the old sheep farming village of Rottingdean. Todasy the village is on the edge of Brighton but still retains its distinctive charm, It was that charm that attracted Rudyard Kipling (Jungle Book) who made the village his home at the height of his fame, you can see his house on the edge of the village green. Your guide will walk you through the village giving you an insight in to its past and present. Before we leave come and see the ‘Pirates Grave’ in the churchyard of the 13th century St Margarets Church.

We will then make our way in to the South Downs National Park to the village of Alfriston.

  • Alfriston - Our second stop is deep in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Alfriston. The village of Alfriston has reguarly featured in pretiest English village lists and feels like a step back in time. Your guide will walk you to the village green before you have time to explore for yourself.

This will be our lunch stop. You can grab a bite to eat in one of the many 14th century pubs or try one of the cafes, or why not bring a packed lunch and sit by the Cuckmere River enjoying nature and the village.

After lunch we will drive to the south of the village to enjoy the views from the ‘High & Over’.

  • High & Over - On leaving Alfriston we will make our way over the hills of the South Downs and make a stop for one of the best views in the national park at the High & Over. Ashort walk from the carpark will give you a view looking all the way along the Cuckmere Valley. Breathtaking.

From here its a short drive to the coast for the views of the Seven Sisters.

  • Seven Sisters Country Park - The white cliffs of the Seven Sisters has to be one of the most iconic views on the whole of the British Isles. We will take a walk around Seaford Head taking in the views of the cliffs from various angles. We will walk down to the sea to take in the majesty of the cliffs, giving you time to sit and contemplate. Your guide will be on hand to help with photographs and answer any questions you may have.

After our walk around Seaford Head we will make our way to the small village of Litlington.

  • Litlington - Our last stop, before we head back to Brighton is the small village of Litlington. This perfect example of a Sussex village is way of the tourist trail and at times it feels like youve been transported back hundreds of years. The main street is lined with flint cottages and parts of the church date back to the 12th century. Litlington is also home to the Longman Brewery, makers of some of the finest beer and ales in England, why not pop in to the shop and bring home a souvenir.

We will now retun back to Brighton where you can get the train to London or spend some time exploring Brighton and take a later train.

  • Brighton - On arriving back in Brighton we will stop at the train station to catch the train back to London Bridge. Or why not spend some more time in Brighton and catch a later train back to London.

small villages East of Brighton - Ish, the guide from London to Brighton called me when I was still at the wrong the meeting point. It is just outside the ticket office but inside London Bridge Station. The train rode only took an hour where the very small group of 4 was picked up by Adam who guide us for the rest of the day. Both guides were very helpful and Adam knew so much about the area we went. He also included some extras, did some extra walks to show us the long man carving or a horse carving. There was enough time to discover things on your own and have lunch in Alfriston in a very local but beatiful cafe.

Great for fans of history, gardening and architecture - This tour is perfect if you love just walking through small villages imagining what it would be like to live in one. Wonderful for those interested in architecture, design and gardening. If you love ancient churches and all things old. Children would probably not think this was very interesting. But I loved it!!

Highly Recommend this Tour Company - Due to mechanical troubles beyond their control we ended up on the Full Day Small Group Tour to the South Downs and White Cliffs. From meeting at the train station in London to the end of the tour, everything was organized and easy. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. We arrived just as the sun was shining on the Seven Sisters, perfect timing! Getting to see the Long Man was also a highlight. Thanks for a great day!

Beautiful Cliffs and Villages - It was a wonderful day! Everything was organized well. We were met at the train station by a guide. He rode with us on the train to Brighton and handed us off to the guide/driver at the coach. Paul was very informative and personable. The countryside was beautiful! The Sussex villages we visited were unique and like a trip to the past. The people were all very kind and friendly. The most awesome part of the tour was the Seven Sisters Cliffs. They were breathtakingly beautiful, especially when the sun shone on them! So glad we booked this tour!

A great escape from the city - All of the guides were very courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. This was a great experience from beginning to end. Not only were the sights great, but the information and history provided by Paul and Lawrence was fascinating. Our tour was in early October and the weather was cloudy, but not chilly - it was perfect. The three towns we visited were charming and full of history, and they were all different and unique.

Great Day Trip from London - What an amazing trip! Laurence was our tour guide and he was full of information. He made sure we were all there and that we had plenty of time to see everything along the way. We were given wrong information on where to meet the group but Ish went looking for us and found us so we didn't miss the tour. I highly recommend this tour and this tour company.

Just perfect - Viewing position for the 7 Sisters is the best. Villages are lovely and uncrowned. Timing was perfect. Plenty of time to stroll around and select a wonderful place for lunch.
