Highlights
  • Tower Bridge - We will start right in front of London’s majestic Tower Bridge and we will walk right under it as well and gaze at this incredible engineering feat.
  • Shad Thames - Charles Dicken’s got a lot of inspiration from around this area especially south of the river just by Shad Thames and Butlers Wharf. His most notable book being ‘Oliver Twist’. When you join us on the tour you’ll understand why straight away.
  • Maltby Street Market - A very hidden away market only open on the weekends and tucked away underneath the railway arches of the London Bridge mainline train station. All the locals come here so a real treat to show you somewhere a little bit secret.
  • Borough Market - London’s oldest ‘still running’ fruit & vegetable market + a very modern street food scene which is conjoined to the market. Old & new work hand in hand here. The atmosphere here is always electric and you can’t not visit London and not experience Borough Market.
  • Golden Hinde - Here we will finish right in front of the famous Golden Hinde galleon. Francis Drake sailed this boat against the Spanish Armada and he was also the second captain to circumnavigate this boat around the Globe. This is where we will finish the tour.
What's Included
  • Enjoy a Gin & Tonic from Jenson’s Gin Distillery.
  • Experience a food and drink walking tour with 6 varied stops.
Additional Information

This excursion aims to take you off the well-trodden path and into the places where the locals frequent. In a span of three hours, we’ll explore six unique points of interest along with two markets—one tucked away from the crowd and another too striking to overlook. We’ll savour Venezuelan Arepa’s and drop by a concealed distillery for a gin & tonic, both nestled under the arches of London Bridge station. Experience the mastery of the chefs at Flour & Grape as they whip up fresh pasta right before your eyes, and indulge in the artisanal cheese from Neal’s Yard Dairy and oysters from Richard Howard’s Oyster bar—an establishment with eight generations’ worth of history. Depending on the day, we’ll either sample Iraqi dumplings from Juma or juicy sausage rolls from Ginger Pig, both poised in the heart of Borough Market. Additionally, we’ll glean insights about how once-bustling warehouses and docklands along the River Thames used to be when London was a hub of worldwide business. Our journey will also encompass a round in the hip Bermondsey locality as we delve into its intriguing history in the Leather, Wool & Hide industry.

  • Please bring comfortable footwear, a bottle of water if its a sunny day and if there are any serious dietary requirements then please inform us as we will try our best find you delicious alternatives.

Hidden Gems - Definately - Had a wonderful day visiting places we would not have thought off. Eddie was very knowledgeable of the area history making it a wonderful experience. Along with a great choice of food stops this tour did not disappoint. Being only a very small group ( 3 including my wife and me) the tour seemed very personal and it was great to get to know Eddie and the lovely lady who was with us. If you ever looking to do something slightly different to the norm touristy stuff then do this. Thanks for the memories Eddie

Eddie was so helpful, engaging and full of stories - and he knows where to go if you want to experience some delicacies. A great 3 hours - have already recommended Walk Eat Talk Eat to some friends.

Book it now! - Eddie is fantastic! He’s so knowledgeable about the history of the area and took us to some delicious places to eat and drink. Even my picky teenagers raved about the food and Eddie earned their vote as ‘top tour guide’ across all the tours we took. I loved getting off the tourist track and seeing where real Londoners go. Highly recommend!

Wonderful historical food tour - Had a super tour with Eddie who was a wonderful guide, so informative and interesting! Clever usage of iPad images meant he could show links between what was seen and what used to be / pointing out the historical significance. We learnt so much walking around, searching for visual clues that linked the area with it’s past. Eddie pointed out real hidden “gems” that would have so easily been missed on your own. We went off the tourist trail to sample street food in pretty Rope Lane and taste gin at a little distillery. Other food stops included fresh pasta, cheese, figs and oysters! Thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend highly.

Walk, talk & eat tour of borough market & the surrounding area - Once again a brilliant informative 3 hours eating and drinking fine produce along the way! This is the 3rd “walk talk & eat” tour we have signed up for and as always we toured a part of London at a relaxed pace & learnt lots about our fine city. Eddie is a natural tour guide, as informative as ever as we walked & talked. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to spend a very pleasant 3 hour’s learning about local history & sampling the fine delights of the area! Excellent gift for those who have everything! Thank you x

60th Birthday Celebration - We decided to book a private tour for a 60th birthday present on the recommendation of a friend. We weren’t disappointed. Our tour guide Eddie was friendly, knowledgeable and witty and it was a joy to spend 3+ hours listening to his stories. The food stops were excellent with lots of choice and we were all very full by the time we’d finished! A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, would thoroughly recommend this tour. We can’t wait to try another!

So interesting & enjoyable. - We had a wonderful tour on Saturday, learning so much about an area of London I really didn’t know. Eddie our tour guide was fab, so informative & interesting to listen to. The different food to try was delicious as was the odd glass of wine. I’d definitely recommended this tour, it’s a great way to see more of London in the company of friends or family.
