Punk in the UK originated in Kings Road Chelsea and matured in various clubs and pubs of Soho and nearby locations. During the mid-seventies, Soho had a distinct character. Join the tour guided by Aidan McManus and step into the vibrant past as he introduces you to the iconic punk players and locations.
The clubs like Marquee, Vortex, 100 Club, Roxy, Louise’s and Notre Dame Hall, gigs in strip clubs, influential market stands and pubs offer an intriguing journey. You’ll unravel where the first Sex Pistols gig took place, explore crash pads, discover lesbian club meet up spots, and heed tales of The Jam’s legal troubles - this tour incorporates it all!
The duration of the tour is around two hours. However, actual walking constitutes less than half of the time as we pause while I illustrate the stories tied to the above-mentioned locales. Regardless of the weather conditions, the tour commences uninterrupted. It’s not a strenuous walk, but a leisurely journey through a rich history.

The Real Punk UK story told here - If you're a fan of early punk rock and want to learn the real story from a witness, this is your tour. We loved the detailed storytelling and our guide also dispelled some common myths. Walk very manageable for all ages and the Denmark Street info worth the small price of this one. Highly recommend

Soho’s Punk Rock Haunts - Awesome walking tour! A must do if you’re a music lover especially if you like punk rock. Lots of Soho and Sex Pistols’ history as we walked through the streets that were the birthplace of punk music. Aiden is a knowledgeable, passionate and colourful storyteller with a great sense of humour. I highly recommend this tour and will definitely do the other tours next time I’m in London.

A tour guide who is genuinely passionate about his subject and a right good laugh. - Aidan is a great guide. Knows his stuff and will keep you interested for the whole trip. You will also learn plenty of Soho’s history as well as its punk connections. Don’t worry if you weren’t around when it happened, there is plenty to enjoy.

Fantastic Tour! - The original soho punk tour was amazing! Aiden is a highly knowledgeable and hilariously entertaining guide. Highly recommend for fans of music history. My only regret was I discovered his yours on the last day of my stay in London, so I’ll have to wait until my next visit to book the Strummer and Bowie tours!

A Fascinating Afternoon of Punk History in Soho - Excellent walking tour that focuses on the punk history of Soho, most specifically the Sex Pistols and their influence. Soho is the site of so much music history in London and I appreciated how this tour specifically highlights the contributions and experiences of punk musicians in the mid-to-late 1970s. I particularly enjoyed the emphasis on the live music history of the era, the concert venues and recollections of gigs. The tour brought out personal experiences from other attendees – on the day I went, people on the tour shared experiences about punk concerts of the time. It was also enlightening to learn about historical misrepresentations in particular locations in the area and intriguing to hear about the history of Chinatown. Aidan is a highly knowledgeable guide with a wealth of information. Book this tour.

The original SOHO Punk Tour - Highly recommend this SoHo walking tour with Aiden. He was very passionate about the culture and music that became the launching pad for so many bands. The stories he was telling about Denmark St and the origins of who was creating music at the time was an outstanding walk through history. The stories he shared about the Marquee club were ridiculous. My wife and I love live music, this tour and the education we got about the true beginnings of the punk scene was amazing. Thank you, I’d love to catch a show with this dude…💯❤️

A great way to spend an afternoon - This tour is fantastic. Aiden did a private tour for a group of punk enthusiast friends of mine and it was full of interesting information, trivia and personal stories. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour - This tour is great - the rating is spot on. My son who isn’t a punk fan came along and loved it. The 2.5 hours flys by and is good fun. If your into punk & definitely the Pistols era, this is worth it. I had been around all these areas 12 months before on my last trip & had no idea on some of the things I was missing and was so close to history. Aidan is a good bloke so do yourself a favour
