This tour is conducted by an expert actor guide, commencing from Cannon Street Station on the river’s northern side. The tour includes a visit to the world-famous Globe Theatre and traces its evolution from its beginning in Shoreditch, stopping at significant locations in the past of the Elizabethan Renaissance Theatre and Playhouses. Your guide, an actor himself, will narrate the history of the earliest British theatre, interspersed with apt speeches and quotes from Shakespeare taken from various parts of the tour that are abundant with history, literature, theatricality, comedy, tragedy, fact, fiction, and drama. The tour is not just bound to the past, but also embraces current attractions and references, such as incredible street art in Shoreditch, a thrilling passage through the Barbican estate, and transgresses boundaries and genres. This 2-hour tour has a 20-minute break at the Barbican Arts Centre, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s dwelling, and wraps up on Curtain Road in Shoreditch.

Fascinating, fun walk discovering Shakespeare’s London - D was engaging, entertaining and led a really fun tour through bits of London I never would have known to visit otherwise. We left with fascinating new knowledge of Shakespeare and his world, and also a list a places we want to revisit. Can’t recommend highly enough!
