Gangster walk of London with Vas Blackwood - This was a 60th birthday gift from friends, always been interested in the east end gangsters and the myths and truths surrounding them . The weather was humid but there was no way we were going to let that affect a day out. We arrived at The Blind Begger pub and welcomed by Vas himself was Mr entertainment cracking one liners and getting the group going , he started by explaining how the pub is listed now but how it would've looked in the 60s when the infamous shooting took place . We then proceeded outside with more information as to other shenanigans that had taken place within that small area. The walk started with enthusiasm and entertaining hand signals for left and right turns for the group . Stopping at the old London free hospital where Ronnie & Reggie were born , onto other significant locations vallance road. Repton boxing club , The carpenters Arms the boys brought it for mum. Landlord is know as ( £@nker) do the tour and you'll learn why. Ending up at ' ye old home ' babs windsors pub another gift from the krays. And finally a watering hole the cornerstone for a well deserved drink. I think everyone in our group learnt so.ething about the Krays , their mum Violet and that they weren't all bad but generous with it . Vas made all of our days by chatting to us all learning about us and how much we knew. As well as the entertaining interaction with the local residents one especially around Bethnal Green Road. I have recommended this to other people who are interested in the details surrounding an iconic family name.

Disappointing Experience – Not What We Expected - The Gangster London Tour with Vas Blackwood started off well at the iconic Blind Beggar pub, which set the tone for what we hoped would be an engaging and gritty deep dive into East End history. However, once we stepped outside, the experience took a turn. The mention of the Kray twins had us expecting an intense and captivating narrative, but instead the script veered off into tangents about Judy Garland and various celebrities, with only loose connections to the Krays. We ended up standing outside for almost an hour in the heat, covering the same subject. While they may have moved around more later in the tour, by that point we had lost interest and decided to leave. The use of offensive language didn’t bother us in itself, but it felt exaggerated and unnatural — more like an act than authentic storytelling. Sadly, we walked away disappointed. Despite the many positive reviews that had raised our expectations, we felt the tour lacked depth and didn’t deliver the engaging, history-rich experience we were hoping for. Honestly, we felt we could have learned just as much — if not more — from reading a good book on the subject.

Big let down - wouldn't recommend - Terrible. We walked off after 50 minutes of standing outside the pub listening to him waffle on about very little to do with gangstas. Had no problem with the language but it was very over the top shouting in people's faces, felt like an act, albeit a terrible act. Was really looking forward to the tour and learning about the history - we bought the tickets for our dad who's a big fan of this sort of history. But it was a big let down. How can it be a walking tour if you're standing outside the pub for 50 minutes. Wouldn't recommend.

Disgusting, ill informed, and offensive - We expected information about the Gangsters in the East End. Unfortunately, he was trying to act like a gangster, using filthy words throughout his narrative. He could not say a sentence without swear words! F*ck, C*nt, Sh*t were his favorites. And he was trying to act like a "tough guy" instead of being informative. We stayed for the first half, but then had to leave the tour because he was too offensive. We have friends that were born, and raised in the East End from 1950 and grew up knowing all about the Krays.
