Known as Stand Up Paddle Surfing (SUP), this sport consists of standing on a larger and more stable board than those typical of surfing, while carrying a single-blade paddle to be able to navigate the sea, lakes or estuaries. Its main advantage is that you can go out to sea without the need for wind or waves that day, since they are not essential as in surfing; although, if they appear, you can also surf with the same board.

Spend a day Paddle Surfing on the stunning coasts of Spain. Like many other modern sports, it originated in the United States. This sport, in particular, harks back to the 1960s on Hawaii’s renowned Waikiki Beach where surf instructors started using longer, more steady boards for taking photos of their group. By utilizing canoe paddles, they could navigate and examine their students’ techniques, foresee potential hazards and incoming waves.
