Must-do activity in Turks and Caicos! - We booked this kayak tour on a Friday in late February as one of the last activities for our trip to Turks and Caicos, and this was by far one of our favorite things we did (it was definitely the highlight of my partner’s trip)! It was great that these tours were organized to be for small groups, and we lucked out in that we were the only couple who booked the 9am morning time slot, so it ended up being a private tour for us! Cheese was very knowledgeable of the mangroves and helped us spot a ton of wildlife - including turtles, iguanas, conch, tropical fish, a lemon shark and birds. The entire trip lasted a little over 3 hours, but in the beginning and end we were pulled by boat out to the mangroves and had a nice break in the middle to walk around a swim a bit, so we didn’t get too exhausted from kayaking. You still get a decent workout in but don’t be too afraid of the 3 hour timeframe.

Best kayak adventure - We really enjoyed our tour with Nic. He was so knowledgeable about the wildlife. We saw iguanas, lemon sharks, a jelly fish and learned about the man groves. Definitely take a tour with clear bottom adventure and ask for Nic.

We love Marcus! - Our tour guide Marcus was amazing!! He was so knowledgeable, hilarious, and could spot animals from far away. I had a great time and definitely recommend this tour. Bring bug spray and opt for the early morning slots to enjoy the peaceful mangroves.

Educational, fun experience - This excursion was INCREDIBLE! I had wanted a clear kayak tour that went to the mangroves as well as iguana island but was having trouble finding one that would accommodate our group at the time we were looking for. It must be a newer tour/ excursion because there were just a few reviews but I decided to take the risk and I am so glad I did. Our guide was Nick and he was so knowledgeable. We really enjoyed learning about the island and the species that inhabit it. The iguana part was a little bit of a let down as it wasn’t actually “iguana island” but we did still see a few iguanas. The mangroves were very cool though. We saw several sea turtles, a couple of lemon sharks, conch and also held a jelly fish (Cassiopeia). Nick taught us so many interesting facts about all of these creatures. For anyone that is wondering, the tour starts out with a motored ride on a raft to an uninhabited island closer to where the iguanas were and we kayaked across to the island. It was shallow enough that we could have walked across and did not require too much rowing effort. Then we kayaked from there to the mangroves and the canals within. At the end, we kayaked across water that was deeper and a bit farther with a bit more current that required a little more effort but wasn’t too bad. The only downside was that it was quite hot in the mangroves at time and we didn’t bring water as we thought it would be provided. However he only had one bottle for each of us and were thankful that a guide from another tour that had passed us heard us talking about wanting more water and he was able to share his supply with us. So long story short, you may want to bring your own water. Also, don’t forget to sunscreen before and bring some to reapply while you are out. In my opinion, the excursion was excellent and well worth the price we paid.

Fabulous! - Wonderful tour! Saw a stingray, lemon sharks, sea urchin, conch and many sea titles. The iguana island park was definitely worth the extra hour to see the iguanas and splash around on the beach.

Loved our guide. - Fun day. Saw lots of turtles and a couple lemon sharks. Loved our guide, Ted. He was great. Lots of sun though. Ride in the kayak was wet. Recommend swim suit bottoms. Maybe long sleeve lightweight shirt, visor and 50 sunscreen.

Good Experience - It was a worthwhile experience. Enjoyed seeing the iguanas and many turtles especially. Saw a couple of small Lemon sharks, a few birds, tiny jelly fish, and conch, no fish. Marcus was a considerate and helpful guide. It was quite a long pull to the mangroves through the marina but seemed much shorter coming back. The kayaks are hitched to a small boat in a line and pulled until you get to the area where you start kayaking and sightseeing, because it would be too far to kayak. Even still, we were both pretty tired afterwards, but we were glad we did it.

Good but very crowded. - This was a good tour. We saw lots of turtles, lemon shark and iguanas. However it was VERY crowded with lots of people kayaking in the mangroves. There was lots of waiting around in the beginning and had to wait 15 minutes for our transport back to our hotel.
