Fabulous - This was the highlight of our holiday, a knowledgeable, friendly guide whose family live and work growing grapes on the island, some delicious food and wine, and excellent conversation. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Day. - We were picked up from our Villa by Julia, who's family have been growing grapes and olives for generations. She took us to one of the olive groves before going on to her parents home where she showed us the old family winery that had been rebuilt and repositioned brick by brick from its old location after the 1953 earthquake. We were then treated to "bread and olive oil" - Actually tomatoes, feta, olive oil, and oregano (all local) along with some freshly baked bread from the local baker, and some olives. This was served along with a glass of white wine and a small glass of Grappa to finish (which was a lot smoother that I had been expecting, but quite strong, nonetheless). From here we went on to the main winery (one of 8 on the island and the largest). At Orealios Gaea we were served with 8 different wines, 3 Robola wines, 1 other white, 2 rose, one red and one desert wine. Julia is passionate about her produce and it shows. She was a wonderful hostess and we could not recommend her tour more.

Amazing experience! It's a Kefalonia must-see!! - Absolutely brilliant! Julia was fantastic, really friendly and knowledgeable. Julia picked us up from our hotel on time and was really welcoming. We had an amazing time seeing her family's vineyards and olive groves, learnt so much about the farm, the island and it's amazing wine along the way. We stopped off for some delicious food half way through and Julia showed us her grandfather's traditional wine making processes. We then went to the local winery to taste some of the local wine. Stunning scenery and delicious wine, you've got to see this part of the island and sample it's wine. Worth every penny! We can't thank Julia enough for the experience and would highly recommend this authentic, fun and tasty afternoon to anyone visiting Kefalonia!

Great day out - Relaxed day throughout with nicely spaced stops at vineyard, old winery and wine cooperative Lots of interesting information given throughout the tour about the history and current wine making and olive farming. Great wines to taste at the cooperative. Lovely guide who spoke excellent English and told us lots about her family’s vineyards as well as the olive groves they farmed.

Excellent tour! - We enjoyed a lovely day with Julia and one other couple. Working on her family farm growing wine and olives, she was clearly very knowledgeable about the processes involved in wine and olive oil production. We visited her family olive grove and vineyard and had a delicious traditional Greek snack and wine and then you go to another larger winery where we tried more excellent wines. There is no pressure to buy anything although we did as it was so good. I would happily recommend anyone to go on the tour. Thanks

Informative and personal tour - Absolute must if you visit Kefalnia - Julia was amazing! Picked us up punctually from our hotel and drove us to her vineyard/farm. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She explained the process of growing both grapes and olives. Showing us her family's land which dated back centuries - it really came through with how passionate she was. She then took us to her family home where we saw the old way of making wine which was a novelty to see as it was recused by her grandfather from the earthquake. We met her gorgeous cats and had traditional tomoto and feta with bread. Not forgetting a refreshing glass of wine and shot of homemade sprit. Lastly we went to the winery and tasted a range of wines. This was our first wine tasting and Julia explained how best to taste the wines and explained the different flavours in detail. Overall, it was a brilliant experience and we would highly recommend it.

Best wine tour in Kefalonia - We had an incredible time with Julia, she was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I love that Julia keeps the size of the group small too. The wine tasting was wonderful but my favourite part was seeing Julia’s family home and having a traditional Greek “snack.” The olive oil we had was to die for. It was an amazing experience, would highly recommend!!

A fabulous day out. - From start to finish this was an excellent experience. The start time had to be rearranged due to a poor weather forecast but Julia was organised and efficient. We asked to be picked up at our villa and that was no problem, and from there the trip just got better and better. Being a local, Julia's knowledge of the island was excellent and she was able to point out places of interest and was happy to answer any questions our small group had. What really made this tour memorable was the personal touch - visiting the vineyard and olive trees farmed by Julia's family for generations, using traditional methods; seeing the ruins of the village destroyed by the 1953 earthquake; the excellent food and wine provided at Julia's parents' house and seeing where they make their own wine and distil their own grappa. The visit to the winery for the wine tasting was almost secondary (although it too was excellent), for us the real highlight of the tour was seeing a glimpse of the real Kefalonia, and how good food and good wine can bring about interesting conversations and turn strangers into companions, even temporarily. Very highly recommended.

An outstanding wine tour with a personal touch - A wine tour unlike any wine tour I have ever been on. It starts with a behind the scenes visit to a vineyard and olive tree farm. We were luckily enough to be here during harvesting. Followed by a snack of local bread, feta, olives, tomatoes and olive oil in the family home looking at old oak barrels and olive oil vats. Then on to a superb wine tasting. This is a wine tasting trip not to be missed for the authentic personal touch.
