Good way to get around - A convenient & easy way to get around Gozo, especially for a day visit. Booking the tour at the ferry terminal was a bit chaotic and busy! Some buses were full and the audio was hit & miss.

Good Option - I did a day trip to Gozo and this was the most efficient. Taking public transport would take too long. I was only really interested in three options, Dwerja Bay, Victoria (Citadel) and Ta' Pinu. They give you stop for 10 mins at Ta'Pinu to take pics and you can stay longer if you like. But I am glad I didn't stay. I stayed longer in Victoria and Dwerja bay. Overall, this is a good option. Two of the drivers were helpful, and announced the stops loudly enough so that everyone can hear. One didn't but he paused long enough to let you know it was a stop.

Good way to see a lot, but audio doesn't always work - Public transit travel on Malta is notoriously slow, so the HOHO buses are a great way to see a lot in a relatively more efficient manner. However, the audio doesn't always work, and goes silent for long stretches of time. I recall there were at least 5-6 stops where there was no commentary at all. The buses were also incredibly packed, even in late April; would have been nice to have more frequent buses. That said, I still thought it was worth it, and still better than taking the local public buses, which are quite unreliable.

Probably better ways of seeing Gozo - Times of the buses were a little hit and miss. We tried to pick a few stops to get off at as appreciated we didn’t have time to see everything. However, because we could trust the timetable we alway had to get back to the bus stop earlier to ensure we were able to catch it. Felt like spent a lot of the day back and forth on bus sat in traffic. Think there must be better ways of getting around Gozo.

Too bad not to take this tourist bus again - The audio did not work well, the languages were mixed, there was no more information about where we were going, we had to wait more than an hour in Medina, then it did not make stops

Do not waste your money on this. - Do not waste your money on this. Use the public bus services which are excellent and a fraction of the price. The pickup points for the hop on hop off had no one in attendance. So you had to wait for a bus to ask the driver where he was going and to buy a ticket. As a result the main pickup points were chaotic with lots of "lost" people trying to find out which bus to catch. We caught a bus for the North (blue) route which was supposed to take us up to the northern part of the island. However, everyone got thrown off at Mdina (just 30km outside Valletta) and told to catch the next bus, as this one was now returning to Valletta. Consquently when the next bus arrived there was a huge crowd. The audio was next to useless. Nothing being played most of the time and the miniscule commentary provided not of much use.

Choose a different way to see the island - We travelled with the Green bus company but were told by a member of staff from the red bus that there was no difference and as there was a 30 minute wait for the red one, we should just get on the green one. Said member of staff from the red bus company was rude and very unhelpful. So the start of our Gozo sight seeing was annoying! Now to the actual service. If you do “hop off” there’s at least 45 minutes to wait before you’ll have a chance to “hop on” again meaning that you have to choose your stops carefully. The Bastion in Victoria is well worth visiting and needs time spent there. I suggest a couple of hours. Worst aspect of that day was that we decided to stop at Xewkija rotunda on the way back to the port but were robbed of the chance! Reasons being a. The bus became very crowded at Victoria stop 1 with many people standing, b. For reasons only known to him, the driver did not stop at Xewkija and drove very quickly back to the port. One is us complained to the woman who was the co driver who said sorry but in such a manner that clearly she didn’t care. I spoke to the driver who said he didn’t stop because the church was shut all day. This was a complete lie! We subsequently found Joey the taxi driver who took us back there at a decent rate. It was actually open well into the evening. So all in all, rude, careless even lying staff, terrible timings, audio which didn’t work in every seat and the fact that the last bus leaves the port as early as 3pm leads to my advice -don’t do it! Use the taxi drivers like Joey or local buses and save money.
