City highlights - Whew! We definitely got our steps in on this tour! Our guide, Tobie was great. Took a big circle tour of city center to the fish “church” the fort, many churches, the working harbor, historic Haga. We enjoyed it very much

A great day with a great guide! - Bruno, our guide, has lived around the world and has learned several languages, including Swedish. He is friendly, fun, very knowledgeable, and master at making sure that we got the most out our day. He knows the most efficient routes and shortcuts for getting around. If you are active walkers, you will see even more. As a non-native, he has had to learn so much about Gothenburg that the locals take for granted, plus he possesses unique insights into how living in Sweden differs from elsewhere in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. We had so much fun discovering Gothenburg and saw soooooo much more than anyone else on our cruise ship.

We walked Goteboeg - This was an outstanding tour of Göteborg with a private guide. We saw all the major landmarks and fun facts about the city. Put on over 16,000 steps in 3 hours. Our guide was knowledgeable. Superb experience.

Walking Tour - We were disappointed with our tour. Our guide , as nice as she was, did not have the experience to be guide in Gothenburg. It was a nice walk through the city, simple questions asked and she was unable to answer. Easy to read a name on a statue, you need to know the significance behind them. Too much time spent on her phone. Google mapping, looking for answers, social media. It's an easy city, we should have done it ourselves.

Waste of time & money. Check who the guide will be & the knowledge of the tour requirements. - The guide Oluwatobi was a pleasant & friendly young man but I would not recommend him as a guide. I paid good money for a 3 hour tour but finished it after only 1 1/2 hours as he referred to more on his mobile phone for answers we asked & where to go. This is not his fault but the company that runs the tour for not ensuring the guides are properly trained.

Awkward painful experience - I have never been on a tour this bad. The guide barely spoke and when he did he mumbled. He had no real plan for our tour and knew nothing at all about Gothenburg. The idea of a local showing us their city sounded great but this guide clearly had no guiding experience and no training from the tour company. We weren’t expecting a but knowing something about the city would have been great. The silence was painful and so we gave up after 20 mins. We spoke to aviator who were useless and unhelpful. Just a horrible experience and a massive waste of money. Needless to say our subsequent trips will not involve Viator bookings who clearly do not check quality of the tours they resell and have no interest in the customer experience.

SCAM: They canceled on me 3 hours before the start of the tour - I booked this tour for a 4 hour private walking tour with a guide. 24 hours before the start of the tour, they sent me an email with all these questions that I answered fully. They told me great and they would send me the name and contact details of the guide. After many attempts to contact them at 8 a.m., 3 hours before the start of my tour, they sent me that my guide is sick and they can not fulfill this tour. Honestly, this is so unprofessional and unacceptable. My issue is if you cancel within 24 hours, then Viator and Guydeez will take all the money and won't refund you. But they are allowed to cancel 3 hours before and you get nothing but missing on the city visit. Viator ivustomer care is useless, and they don't help. They protect their suppliers. All they care about is money. To be honest, recently, Viator has become unreliable. No compensation. No alternative tour. Nothing. They throw ypu under the bus and continue. They should be shut down for doing unethical unprofessional practices.
