- TEN THOUSAND ISLANDS NWR - Consisting of two parts, The Dolphin, Birding and Shelling Tour is a wonderful experience for the whole family and a great introduction to the area. First a dolphin tour to search for dolphins and wading birds on a naturalist-led boating tour. Then a shelling tour to explore an uninhabited barrier island. You will learn about island’s beach dynamics and collect some of the wonderful shells on these remote islands.

Additional Information
Under the guidance of a Florida Master Naturalist, we will securely lead you deep into the 10,000 Islands Wildlife Refuge for a two-hour exploratory tour. Based on the season, you have the chance to spot manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, rosette spoonbills, and a variety of species of fishes and shore birds.

A bucket list trip. - The captain and 1st mate kept us informed and educated about Dolphins. They had a very good knowledge of the animals characteristics.

Paddle Naples - Paddle Naples is a great way to get a little rowing exercise and experience the beauty of Florida on water. You see the mangroves upclose and get a little beach time. Highly recommend Mike as your guide!

Marco Island Dolphin tour - Ed was a great guide. Knowledgeable, respectful of his environment and guests. Took us all around Marco Island mangroves. We saw many dolphins and birds. Had a great time shelling on the beach. Would highly recommend him to other visitors.

Beautiful experience - Second time around, love the experience.
We saw dolphin pods all around us. I would reckon mend this tour highly. The captain and the boat needed upgrading however

Where are the dolphins? - The good: our Captain Joe was knowledgeable and interesting. The disappointing: Saw a small handful of languid dolphins who barely broke the water, a few cool birds, and miles and miles and miles of mangroves. The shelling was OK, but pretty picked over. Did this tour previously, and it was great fun as the boat picked up dolphins to swim with us on two occasions. Joe commented that there had been a lot of boats out on the weekend, and maybe the dolphins were busy with “dolphin things” on Monday, so maybe avoid taking a Monday tour during peak season? Granddaughter did not seem to mind missing out on the dolphins swimming with us, although she had been enticed onto the tour with video of the dolphins on the last trip.

Dolphin Play - Our captain found the dolphins & one played in the boat wake! This was the perfect amount of time out on the water & to find some great shells - the island also had a lot of birds.

Beautiful Morning on the Water - We had a wonderful time. It was a beautiful morning. We saw a mother dolphin and her calf immediately as we pulled away from the dock - set the mood for the entire trip☺️. Any time spent on the water is grrat and Capt. Joe and first mate Ryan were terrific. We would recommend this experience.
