Dounan Flower Market - Guests are picked up from their hotel and taken to Dounan Flower Market.
Thanks to its favorable climate and location, Dounan Village in Kunming has become the largest flower wholesale market in Asia.
Known as “the heart of China’s flower market,” Dounan Flower Market features over 300 species and 4–6 million flowers, with a daily turnover reaching up to 5.5 million RMB. More than 20 major companies, including Yunnan Airlines, purchase flowers in bulk from Dounan, and millions of flowers are flown daily to over 10 domestic cities like Beijing and Shanghai, as well as to Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand.
Guandu Ancient Town - Guandu Ancient Town is a birthplace of Yunnan Culture and a key historical and cultural site in Kunming tourism. As early as the Nanzhao Dali Kingdom, it was a large market and a vital transportation hub on the northeast bank of Dian Lake. During the Tang Dynasty, Guandu Town was a fishing village. The ancient Guandu is a perfect spot to appreciate the beauty of Dian Lake.
Haigeng Park - Haigeng Park is primarily a natural scenic area and lakeside beach with lush willows, towering eucalyptuses, and vibrant flowers. The park and nearby fishing villages blend seamlessly. On sunny days, the water extends endlessly; white clouds drift across the blue sky, gentle waves ripple, sails drift with the current, and seagulls skim the water.
On moonlit nights, a gentle breeze caresses while the silver moonlight shimmers on the lake’s surface; the dim reflection of the Western Hills flickers in the lake, and the lights of fishing boats glow. Haigeng is a natural lakeside park where visitors can enjoy nature’s beauty, swim in summer, and fish year-round.
Sleeping Beauty - The Western Hill, also known as “Sleeping Beauty Hill,” is located in Kunming City’s western suburbs. The hills are also called ‘Sleeping Beauty Hills’ because, when viewed together, they resemble a beautiful young lady lying beside Dianchi Lake with her face upward and her hair trailing into the water. Her face, chest, and legs are clearly outlined.
Western Hills offers a superb environment with flourishing flowers and dense forests, providing tourists with a tranquil and scenic experience. It’s no wonder the area is renowned for having the world’s most pleasant environment. Visitors can explore wonderful spots like Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Sanqing Pavilion, and Dragon Gate.
After visiting this sleeping beauty, guests return to their hotel.

Zhuanxin Wet Market - While large supermarkets are increasingly common in Kunming, traditional produce markets remain cherished daily destinations for many locals. Early in the morning, if one is up in the city center, the crowds of elderly people boarding buses often head to Zhuanxin Wet Market.
This market is not only the largest but also the best place to buy fresh meat, produce, and nearly any other regional edible in the Spring City. For years, it has held a few secrets unknown to many.
Established 20 years ago, the market has become a Kunming institution. Everyday items like onions, bell and spicy peppers, ginger, coriander, and garlic are available in large quantities. However, what sets Zhuanxin apart is its array of rarer or surprising choices.
Yuantong Temple - Yuantong Temple is located at the foot of Yuantong Hill in northern Kunming. With a history of over 1,200 years, it is one of the grandest and most significant Buddhist temples in Yunnan Province. King Yimouxun of the Nanzhao Kingdom built it in the late eighth century as a continuation of Putuoluo Temple, and restorations from the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) onward have preserved its unique mixed architectural style of the Yuan (1271 - 1368) and Ming (1644 - 1911) Dynasties.
Green Lake (Cui Hu) - Green Lake Park, established in the 17th century on the west side of Wuhua Mountain, is sometimes called a “Jade in Kunming.” Two long banks divide Green Lake into four parts, covered with willow trees and dotted with vibrant lotuses. The contrast between the pale green willows and the colorful lotuses makes the park a favorite for nature lovers. The air feels fresh, and the serenity and beauty make it an excellent spot for a picnic, a morning stroll, or quiet reflection.
Cuihu Park is Kunming’s most enchanting place. Located in a bustling part of the city, it offers a respite from crowded streets and honking cars, providing a space for people to meet, talk, sing, dance, drink tea, or watch the ducks swim by.
Yunnan Military Academy Museum - Founded in 1909 in Kunming, Yunnan Military Academy is among China’s first military schools. The academy had 22 different classes and over 9,000 trainees until 1935, when it closed due to the Second Sino-Japanese War.
World-renowned military leaders like Zhu De and Ye Jianying graduated from Yunnan Military Academy. The residence of Zhu De is now a museum next to the academy, across from Green Lake Park. Students from Korea, Vietnam, and other countries also trained here.
Yunnan Military Academy was the most influential school before the establishment of the Huangpu Military School, making significant contributions to a series of conflicts in China’s modern history.
Jingxing Bird and Flower Market - Among the many bird and flower markets in Kunming, Jingxing Bird and Flower Market in downtown is a top choice and a symbol of daily life for Kunming residents. Established in the 1980s, it has around 700 stores offering a wide variety of items. Strolling through the market, visitors can enjoy the countless colorful flowers with pleasing aromas and the cheerful chirping of various bird species. It’s a unique way to experience local life, hear Kunming residents chatting in their dialect, and choose from antiques, jewelry, handicrafts, and more.
Nanping Business Street - Nanping Business Street attracts locals and visitors from around the world. As an emerging landmark of Kunming, it is a must-see, blending historical commercial culture with modern shopping environments.
Nanping Business Street has been beautifully redeveloped, incorporating folk art statues to enhance Kunming’s historical and cultural charm. The street combines tradition and modernity. While the old Nanping Street was known as “Wall Street” in Kunming, today’s Nanping Shopping Street is famed as “Southwest First Street.” Walking along this street, visitors can experience Kunming’s history, culture, and innovation.
