Our family has always been drawn to the allure of historical sites and cultural landmarks, but every now and then, we crave a different kind of adventure. This time, our journey led us to the heart of Istria, Croatia, where we discovered the exhilarating Glavani Park. Known as the largest high-ropes climbing course in Croatia, Glavani Park promised a day filled with excitement and family bonding.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Nigel, one of the park’s founders. His enthusiasm was infectious, and before we knew it, we were harnessed and ready to tackle the practice games. Suspended above the ground, we navigated through the ropes with a mix of trepidation and thrill. The park’s design is both challenging and rewarding, offering a perfect blend of fun and safety.

Embracing the Elements

As the day progressed, the weather took an unexpected turn, and a gentle rain began to fall. Rather than dampening our spirits, it added a refreshing twist to our adventure. Nigel, ever the gracious host, suggested we order pizza from a nearby village. The wait was brief, and the pizza, as promised, was delightful.

The rain soon subsided, and we resumed our exploration of the park. The giant swing, a highlight of the day, was an exhilarating experience that left us all breathless. Even our youngest, who initially hesitated, couldn’t resist the allure of soaring through the air.

A Family Affair

While the high-ropes and swings were the main attractions, Glavani Park offered so much more. Nigel introduced us to the park’s charming animal residents, including rabbits, hens, dogs, and goats. Our children were particularly enchanted by the animals, spending a joyful hour in the cargo net, listening to Nigel’s tales of how he came to call Istria home.

For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, the park provides ample opportunities for relaxation and enjoyment. I found myself captivated by the serene surroundings, sipping a cold drink while watching my family conquer their fears and embrace new challenges.

As we prepared to leave, Nigel gifted us a bag of the sweetest tomatoes, a perfect reminder of our unforgettable day.
