E-bike tour is E-Z and lots of fun! - I have been lucky enough to travel widely and in doing so have taken many, many tours but never by electric bike. This tour, led by Martin, was one of the best I’ve ever taken, and being on a bike added to the fun, breadth and scope, and the feeling of being a part of the city that a walking or bus tour never have. The e-bike was easy to operate after a quick lesson, In terms of the amount of physical energy you need to exert, I would describe it as low to moderate, and you can adjust settings to exert more or less energy. You didn’t need any experience with e-bikes. I didn’t have any. Nor did my two daughters and spouse. The route itself was well planned and moved from historical to newer parts of the city, it included cultural and natural highlights, outside art and neighborhood streets. Martin shares not only his vast knowledge but love of the city. His old timey photos let you see how the city has transformed. He has a good knowledge of, and shares, the feel of the city. The whiskey distillery tour (about 50 minutes) was interesting, and well planned out with a little museum. My family enjoyed the whiskey but I don’t drink, so enough from me on that. Other considerations are value: well worth it as the tour was actually 4 hours and the bikes were in great shape, Martin was incredibly attentive and even provided a snack (apple or candy). He is very friendly, conversational, well travelled, knowledgeable and loves the city—everything you would want in a tour guide. The tour started on time, was centrally located, had access to public toilets, and went through both scenic bike paths and city streets. He worked to get us access to “off the beaten track” spots like a new bridge under construction. The university was a highlight. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. The tour left me writing this - my first ever review.

Gorgeous Glasgow in a nut-shell - This E-bike tour of Glasgow including Whisky tasting was a highlight of my recent visit to Scotland. My guide, Martin, from Gallus Pedals is great fun and full of knowledge and background insights into Glasgow past and present. We covered a lot of ground from the very gentrified West-side with Glasgow University and the beautiful River Kelvin precinct , along Clydebank with its shipbuilding history and modern entertainments through to the grittier industrial background of the east-side. To finish off we dropped in for an informative look at whisky production and a few wee-drams at the Clydeside Distillery. As an e-bike was provided, pedalling up hills was easy for an older bloke like me. Thanks Martin for a fabulous view of Glasgow.
