- Pyramids of Giza - Begin your adventure with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in an air-conditioned coach. Your Cairo travel guide will ensure you make the most of your time in this bustling city, answering any questions you have about the historical attractions.
Your first stop will be the majestic Pyramids of Giza, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and the only one still standing today.
Egypt boasts over 90 pyramids, but the Giza Plateau is home to the largest of them all, known as “Khufu” or the Great Pyramid.
In this area, you’ll also find two other pyramids, “Khafre” and “Menkaure.” A king would only construct such a complex after ascending to the throne.
Get an up-close look at each pyramid before moving to the panoramic area, where you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of all the pyramids. Your guide will assist you in capturing as many photos as you like. Then, prepare for an exhilarating camel ride. Afterward, hop back into your vehicle to visit the Great Sphinx, the tomb guardian with a lion’s body symbolizing strength and a pharaoh’s head representing intelligence. Don’t forget to take a selfie with the Sphinx.
Before heading to your next destination, take a moment to explore the papyrus and perfume factories, which played a crucial role in the mummification process.
- The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - The Egyptian Museum, which opened its doors in 1902, was the first building in the world designed as a museum. It houses over one hundred exhibits from various eras across its two floors.
Highlights include the Narmer Palette, which supports the idea that the southern kingdom, ruled by King Narmer, defeated the northern kingdom to form a united Egypt; the statuette of Khufu, the owner of the Great Pyramid; and the famous collection of the young King Tutankhamun and his shrine. Once our visit is complete, we will return to the hotel.
