Great experience and price! - Great tour, much better value than the ship’s offerings. Ahmed was a great driver, a real adventure in Cairo. Islam was our guide, really knew the history. He gave a great tour of the Egyptian Museum and pyramids & sphinx. He tried to steer us away from the Khan el khali bazaar-we insisted on it and bought several great souvenirs there! Overall a great experience, I highly recommend this excursion.

I found this to be very... - I found this to be very sketchy at first. After a short walk from the port to the gates you will see several tour operators with various signs. My name was written on a piece of paper (not very professional) held by a man who didn’t speak English who was our driver. When we arrived at our car the driver gave me his phone to talk to our guide who at first told us we were not going to the pyramids. This was our soul purpose of going to Giza. Our guide did however manage to resolve this. We didn’t meet up with our guide for almost an hour. We were driven out of Alexandria to Cairo over 1 1/2 hours. This information would have been helpful to know prior to getting into the car and putting us more at ease.

Day trip to the Coptic Churches of Egypt. - Our trip was absolutely fantastic. Ahmed our driver was gracious & kind. Hoping he'll get better with English, rather than using Google translation, so he can interact with the clients better. Also hoping he could come into the ports, like other tour companies that do, because the walk to gate # 10, was far specially for my wife who uses a cane to walk. Viator, pls arrange that next time, worldwide. We've had similar situations in other countries before, too. But if viator pays a few bucks more, it can be arranged, like all other tour companies. Thanks Norman & Helen D'Silva

Good experience with a room for improvement - The tour started on time, good abbreviated program to see the Pyramids, sphinx and other sites. I didn't like that the car was not of high quality, and AC was weak, although I asked for a better one in advance. I would have done this in a better way.

Gaza Pyramids from Alexandria Port - Because I use a walker, I was not sure if I could get close to the pyramids at all. But--Medhat our guide and Ashraf our driver we're both so helpful, kind and accommodating. I got up close and was able to take all those silly pictures of putting your fingertip on the point of the pyramid, kissing the Sphinx, etc! Afterwards we went to lunch (very good) the Papayrus museum, Memlouk Jewelry, the NMEC (National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.) Medhat never tired and was happy and smiling our entire trip. We had a long, tiring, eventful and fascinating day. Our driver was able to get me close to all the sights so I didn't have to walk too far anywhere. I would highly recommend EMO tours for your guides. Ours was private just for the two of us. What an experience. The only cumbersome part was that Port pickup was not possible for security reasons. So we had to cab to the meeting point had to wait because they were delayed due to traffic. The cab driver and our driver made the arrangements. Overall a great time! Thank you both.

Sites were incredible, animal cruelty and tour guide were not - --Marwa was our tour guide and was knowledgable but very pushy and didn't like when we refused her upsales. She wanted us to pay for personalized jewelry, perfume/oils, papyrus factory, and camel rides and asked multiple times despite saying no several times. She also tried to get us to stop at her rental apartment during our short time in Cairo. She consistently didn't respect our preferences (e.g., not going into a very narrow, steep tunnel at the pyramids due to claustrophobia, not eating things due to severe allergies, and not jumping for a photo that we didn't ask for on a steep incline). Her friendly demeanor disappeared as we declined her upsales, and she rushed us through the sites after that. She insisted on getting our contact information and social media accounts. --The driver was very safe and polite --The pick up location was stressful since the port had a lot of buses and vans waiting at the same location/time, making it hard to find the correct van, especially since the driver did not speak English and the tour guide was a little late showing up --A LOT of animal cruelty at the pyramids. They whip the half-starved horses, donkeys, and camels frequently. Many of the animals had visibly infected open wounds from their abuse. We didn't see a single horse, donkey, or camel that didn't show signs of abuse. --Actually seeing the pyramids and the Cairo museum was amazing. --For cruise ship passengers: there is definitely limited time if you only have the day, so set your expectations accordingly. They did a very nice job of getting us back to the port in time for our departure, though. --The tour guide insisted we go to a perfume/oil demonstration at a local shop (which was not included in the tour description and not something we wanted to do with our limited time), which took some of our time from the museum, which was a disappointment. The people giving the demonstration were very nice, professional and not pushy, which was appreciated. --She gave a very rushed, disorganized tour of the Cairo museum to highlight a few important artifacts then left us while she went to get herself lunch (she did offer to pick up food for us as well, but we had allergies). We then started back at the beginning to figure out the museum ourselves. Many of the plaques were in English, which was nice and it was laid out overall in a timeline, so easy enough to navigate on our own, thankfully. --Minimally available bathrooms, all require tipping. Bring your own toilet paper and hand sanitizer. --The stops on this tour do not require headscarves for females
