From the seventh until the thirteenth century, it served as the Coptic Patriarch’s home. Then you will visit The church of st.Sergius and st.Bacchus It’s one of the most important churches in Old Cairo. It was built in the end of 4th cen- the beginning of 5th cen.AD. Here, the holy family stayed during the 1st century AD. It’s a Basilica church consisting of a rectangular building. The level of the church is lower than the level of the street.

Ayoub is the best. - Ayoub our tour guide put together a wonderful experience of visiting the citadel in Cairo and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation. Because of our time restraints Ayoub selected the main attractions to view and he was very knowledgeable . Although not on our original “ to do list “ I would highly recommend a visit to the NMEC.
