The Journey Begins: Lemosho’s Lush Welcome

As a wildlife photographer with a penchant for adventure, the call of Kilimanjaro’s Lemosho Route was irresistible. Known for its breathtaking scenery and gradual acclimatization, this path promised a journey through diverse climatic zones, from lush rainforests to stark alpine deserts. Arriving in Moshi, I was greeted by the warm smiles of the Soraka team, who would be my companions on this incredible trek. Their reputation for excellence preceded them, and I was eager to see if they lived up to the hype.

The first day was a gentle introduction to the mountain’s beauty. We set off from Lemosho Gate, our path winding through a verdant rainforest alive with the sounds of exotic birds and the rustle of unseen creatures. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and blooming flora, a sensory feast that set the tone for the days to come. Our guides, Baltazar, Baraka, Simon, and Gerald, were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly patient, ensuring that each step was taken with care and confidence.
