Essential tour - Visiting the Wolf's Lair is to discover a methodically organized chapter on the delirium of the Third Reich. Walking through those historic ruins in the company of Marcin is to delve into a past that should not be forgotten. He begins by situating us in the geopolitical situation that led to Hitler's rise and, from there, guides us to the reason for the Wolf's Lair's existence, how it was built, and its organization. Marcin shares with us his profound knowledge of history, demonstrates great narrative ability, and richly illustrates essential details about the complex's role, the function of each building, and even the eccentricities of its occupants. And, of course, he dedicates special attention to separating legend from reality regarding the spectacular assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler. This tour is essential for anyone who wants to understand how the Nazi machine worked. And in Marcin's company, it will be a richer and more exciting experience.

An exceptional experience - This was a really interesting trip. Although a long journey it was well worth it. The trip was made special by the guide Marcin who had exceptional knowledge of the place and Polish history. The interaction with the guide throughout the day made the trip.

Military History Bonanza ! - A great day with a fantastic guide. A real eye opener of a day out in which we managed to put a lot of Nazi history to bed at last.
We not only learnt about the Wolfs Lair but all about Poland's previously military history as well as the modern.
Marcin's military knowledge was astounding, we will definitely ask for him to be our guide on further trips.

Great day! Highly recommend! - Great day thanks to our excellent guide, Martin. We arrived in Poland after over 24 hours of travel so we were reluctant to schedule a tour the next day that involved a long drive, but so glad we did. Martin picked us up at the hotel in a nice Mercedes van. We traveled about 3.5 hours to the Wolf’s Lair. Martin has incredible knowledge of Poland, its history, and so much more. We really enjoyed talking to him on the drive and it made the time fly by. The Wolf’s Lair was very interesting, especially since Martin told us about everything we were seeing. We stopped for lunch on the way back and Martin ordered some traditional Polish food for us which we really enjoyed. I highly recommend this tour. Be sure to watch the Tom Cruise movie, Valkyrie, before you go!

Wolf’s Lair - wow - A memorable and meaningful place
Wolf’s Lair is definitely worth a visit – a place full of history and a unique atmosphere. The bunkers made a strong impression on both me and the kids. As soon as you arrive, you’re surrounded by the aura of the past, which really makes you reflect and think deeper. Everything is well organized – comfortable paths, clear routes – so you can explore all the sites at a relaxed pace. Time flies quickly. There’s also a place to grab a snack and buy souvenirs.
The only downside is that not all signs and information boards are translated into English, so if you don’t speak Polish, some things might be hard to understand.
Still, it doesn’t take away from the experience – if anything, it encourages you to dig deeper into the history. I’d recommend this to anyone interested in the past!

A Great Learning Experience - I had a great day visiting the Wolf's Lair earlier this month with Marcin, my tour guide. The visit gave me some wonderful practical memories of Operation Valkyrie that I'd only read about.
I was picked up promptly from my hotel in central Warsaw for the drive out to the remote Marsurian forest and lake district of north-west Poland. Be aware that this drive will take over three and a half hours. Fortunately, Marcin is excellent company, the weather was lovely, and the traffic was favourable, meaning the journey passed very quickly.
Once at the site, it was great to see what's left of Hitler's former command centre Although the many bunkers there were originally very strongly fortified, the Nazis blew them up to prevent them falling into Russian hands meaning only ruins remain. However, with Marcin's help, the purpose of each of the ruins was well explained, which brought it all back to life.
It was fascinating to learn about what went on there and even venture into some of them. For me, the highlight was seeing the room where von Stauffenberg primed the bomb. If only he had thought to put the second, unprimed, bomb in the suitcase as well, the history of the Second World War would have been different, and many lives would have been saved.
After the tour, we went for lunch in Kętrzyn and then drove home. Marcin took a more scenic route home than the motorway drive up earlier, so there was lots of scenery and small villages to see.
If you want a great souvenir, I would recommend buying a guidebook. That will give you a good record of what you are experiencing.
Poland really is a lovely place, and Marcin is a friendly, enthusiastic tour guide.
Highly recommended!
