Taman Negara National Park - Taman Negara is 130 million years old tropical rainforest home to tigers, elephants, tapirs, pythons… 14,000 flowering plants, 300 bird species , and scattered aborigines.
7am Depart Camerons for Taman Negara and trek up the Canopy Walkway for a bird’s eye view of the world’s oldest rainforest. The boatman skilfully negotiates 7 sets of rapids to reach an aborigine village. The ladies shy away and the men “run” away only to reappear with their fire making and blowpipe hunting tools for a “native” demonstration. They are naive people and the rainforest is their supermarket. The Nature Guide who lives in Taman Negara will belt out facts and taboos of Taman Negara. Check in. Relax.
Join Nature Guide for Night Jungle Walk to look for spiders, mouse deer, scorpions.
8.30pm Boat for the Night River Cruise . As the boatman cruises downstream, look out for elephants, tapirs lazing alongside the river. Enjoy the rainforest’s night ambience seated on a boat deep in virgin jungle.
