Great day in a beautiful area - Our small group of 8 had an amazing time visiting Camogli, Santa Margherita, Portofino and Genoa. We were able to set our own schedule and our driver was gracious to take us into Portofino since the ferry from Santa Margherita was not operating that day. In spite of the rainy day, we thoroughly enjoyed the coastal areas and small towns. We even had ample time to see some of Genoa before having to return to our ship. Just keep in mind that this is a driver only so we did not get much info about the places we visited except when we asked.

Beautiful scenery - Scenery was beyond beautiful. Like stepping into a book. Maximo (?) was nice and very courteous. It was dissappointing that he didn’t seem to know much about the areas we traveled to.

A relaxing day in 3 beautiful towns. - We enjoyed visiting the three towns with our guide, Gianluca. It was a really laid back day with nice sights. Gianluca picked us up at the cruise port entrance in Genoa (we were not on a cruise so it took some looking around) and suggested an itinerary of an hour in Camogli followed by a few hours between Portofino and Santa Margherita, which are connected by ferry. We enjoyed all three towns but Camogli was my personal favorite. We enjoyed walking on the beach and getting coffee in Camogli, hiking around the hills of Portofino to see the town from above, and then shopping a little bit in Santa Margherita. We had lunch in Portofino, was good but was also the most expensive meal on our two week vacation. I might suggest having lunch in the other towns, which are equally beautiful. We never felt rushed and had more than enough time in each town. The drive was pleasant and pick up was easy to coordinate through WhatsApp. It’s not a guided tour, but Gianluca was happy to answer questions or offer information when we asked.

Magical day with Angelo - We had a wonderful day out of Genoa. We made all the stops and got to explore these great towns. He booked us for lunch in Recco and the meal was superb. I could not recommend this tour more highly. You will not be disappointed.

Fun Day! - This was a great tour. Jani, our tour guide, was amazing - very knowledgeable and friendly. The fresh focaccia he had waiting for us on pickup was a wonderful treat. Genoa, Portofino, Santa Margherita and Camogli were beautiful. We saw so much of the area and learned so much from our guide. We were traveling as a group of 5 - me, my husband, two teenagers and my mom. I would recommend this tour.

Recommend hiring the optional guide unless fluent in Italian - We requested a guide as we had read some reviews that were not positive about the drivers and their ability to speak English and share information about the sites. The guide they provided, Elisabetta Frega, was amazing! She was born in the area and knew it well. We loved her energy and passion for the sites we visited. Most of this tour was on foot so there was lot of walking which was fine with us but may be more than some area comfortable with. I rating this tour a 4 as our driver did not speak any English at all, otherwise it would be a 5 star. When the guide was with us we were fine, but after she departed and we were on the way back to the ship we needed to us google transcript the communicate with drive. We recommend that tour, but only if you hire an English speak guide or are fluent in Italian.

Portifino - The scenery was beautiful, loved the towns, but the driver's lack of English made it difficult to communicate and he was able to provide minimal information.

No ferry ride. Limited commentary. 3 villages we visited were very interesting. - The tour guide did not know what the tour was supposed to include. He did not drop us off in Santa Margherita to take the ferry to Portofino but drove us there. When we asked about taking the ferry back to Santa Margarita, he did not know the schedule or where to catch the ferry, so he picked us up via car in Portofino. During the drive, he didn’t tell us where we were and we had to ask the names of the towns. In Santa Margarita he showed us a restaurant, which was very good, but no tour or other directions. No information about Camogli, just dropped us off and planned for meeting. Back in Genoa, he didn’t tell us drive us around the city and stopped at the cathedral so we could go in. It was beautiful.

Disappointing and Unprofessional Tour – Do Not Recommend - We booked this tour with high expectations based on the promised itinerary, but it was a complete letdown from start to finish. Our guide seemed completely unprepared and unaware of what the tour was supposed to include. Instead of dropping us off in Santa Margherita to enjoy the ferry ride to Portofino as advertised, he simply drove us there. When we asked about taking the ferry back (which was part of the experience we were looking forward to), he had no idea about the schedule or even where the ferry stop was. In the end, he just picked us up by car again in Portofino. Throughout the drive, there was barely any commentary. We had to ask the names of towns we were passing through, and there was no information given about the areas we were visiting. When we arrived in Camogli, he just dropped us off without any explanation or direction, and arranged only a meeting time. Back in Genoa, he didn’t give us a city tour or show us key sites like the cathedral, which was supposed to be part of the itinerary. Overall, this was not a guided tour, it was more like paying for a very expensive, silent chauffeur. We are a family of two adults and two kids, and this experience was a major disappointment. Absolutely not worth the money, and not what was promised. Avoid!
