It serves as the European headquarters of the United Nations and is the largest UN center outside of New York. Annually, over 25,000 delegates visit, and numerous artworks are displayed within its walls. - Broken Chair Sculpture - This impressive wooden sculpture stands 12 meters tall and was crafted by Swiss artist Daniel Berset, with carpenter Louis Genève. It portrays a giant chair with a broken leg, symbolizing the opposition to landmines and cluster bombs, and serves as a call to action for visiting heads of state in Geneva. Erected by Handicap International in August 1997, the sculpture was owned by Daniel Berset until 2004, when it was transferred to Handicap International.
- Jet d’Eau - The Jet d’Eau is a symbol of Geneva, reaching a height of 140 meters. Every second, 500 liters of water are propelled into the air at a speed of 200 km/h. The operation of the Jet d’Eau is managed by SIG, the company responsible for Geneva’s water, electricity, and gas supply. When operational and with favorable wind conditions, visitors can approach without getting wet.
- Quartier des Eaux-Vives - Located in the Eaux-Vives district, the Parc des Eaux-Vives was established in the 16th century and extends from Parc la Grange, accessible through a gate. The manor house overlooking the park is a prestigious hotel-restaurant, offering a perfect spot to relax while enjoying stunning views of the lake and the Jura. The Eaux-Vives beach, created to support social development and enhance the urban center, features a 400-meter beach just a ten-minute walk from the city center and includes a water garden.

The Flower Clock - IMPORTANT NOTE: THE FLOWER CLOCK IS CURRENTLY WITHOUT FLOWERS.
Created in 1955, the Flower Clock’s arrangements change with the seasons. It not only offers beauty but also tells time with Swiss precision, as the time is transmitted via satellite. Notably, its second hand is the world’s largest at 2.5 meters long. The Flower Clock is a tribute to Swiss watchmaking excellence, designed to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the International Committee of the Red Cross, founded in Geneva. It is said to be the most photographed monument in Geneva, so be sure to capture it! - Cathedrale de Saint-Pierre - Saint-Pierre Cathedral is part of the Swiss Reformed Church. Its construction began in the 12th century, showcasing a blend of architectural styles. It is renowned as the mother church of John Calvin, a key figure in the Protestant Reformation. Recent excavations beneath the cathedral have uncovered a rich history dating back to Roman times. Visitors can climb 157 steps to the top of the tower for a breathtaking view of the city and Lake Geneva (see our cover photo).
- Reformation Wall - Located in Parc des Bastions, the Reformation Wall measures approximately 99 meters long and 9 meters high. Constructed between 1909 and 1917 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Calvin’s birth, it features the effigies of four significant Reformation figures present in Geneva in 1559: Guillaume Farel, Jean Calvin, Théodore de Bèze, and Jean Knox. The Geneva motto, “Post Tenebras Lux” (After darkness, light), is engraved on the wall.
